I would like to know why on the main forum menu there is not a seperate section for each soap programme, which would make it a lot easier to find a particular soap programme that you were looking for.?

But it surely would be a lot easier if all the threads for one particular soap programme was all in the one section for that particular soap.

Ahhhhh right, you possibly have to have been a member for a specific period. I think it's the same if you try to start up a blog. (or it used to be).

Can anyone tell me how I can avoid seeing annoying adverts which pop up and run half way down a thread please

A main forum menu listing for each might be excessive and lengthy

How to reply and multi quote?
It says to hit the second button. It turns red. Fine. What then? What is needed is a sequence of steps: 1. ---- 2. ----- 3. ----- etc. So which step is hitting the second button? And what is the next step? |

Like this I Mean say what you want to say[/hihlight] But make sure you spell highlight properly both times and remember the / in the 2nd highlight. For BLUE Same as above but put in the brackets. If you quote my post you will see how I've done it

I've said it before but the easiest way to find out how to do something "special" that you've seen in another post is simply to hit the "quote" button and then scrutinise all the fancy code within the quote.
Once you've figured it out, hit your browsers "back" button rather than actually posting a reply. |

I was going to try to follow your steps by attempting to quote different parts of your post with the steps numbered 1 to 5. So to do that, what exactly do I do after step 1? And the same question for step 2 if quoting from different posts. |

Hi Joni, thanks but you seem to be suggesting that I can quote from more than one post rather than quoting different bits from one post?
I was going to try to follow your steps by attempting to quote different parts of your post with the steps numbered 1 to 5. So to do that, what exactly do I do after step 1? And the same question for step 2 if quoting from different posts. Just add a {/quote} at the end of the first bit then type your reply then add a {quote} at the start of the next bit and a {/quote} at the end and add your next reply and so on. Changing the {}s for []s, obviously. |

If you want to dissect a specific post in order to address individual points you have to chop it up yourself.

Right. So I've put the word QUOTE in square brackets with oblique, at both the beginning and end of the next bit I wish to quote. Quote:

And now I've typed a QUOTE with the usual brackets and oblique at both the beginning and end of the final bit of text from your post that I wish to quote and reply to. Now to see if it works...I will submit my reply, hoping for the best. Edit: Well, the first bit I did worked and appears in a nice Quote box. The next two bits didn't. |

you don't use the / you only use that at the start of the 2nd bracket.
Ah, thank you. I've fixed it now. That's quite a palaver, though. So every time I've seen a long post split into several separate quotes and each one replied to separately, the poster has had to do all that typing of QUOTE in brackets each time. Blimey!
