Click on the middle of the 3 buttons in the bottom right corner of each post you want to quote; (the one with the + sign) the border will change colour then just click on add reply at the end of the thread as if you where not quoting anyone and all the posts will be there.
....or click the QUOTE button as the last post you want to quote.

Can anyone link me to the bit where you can make the screen darker as someone is having issues with the screen being too bright and I don't know how to change it and it's only on this site. Thanks

Hi , this is a question rather than a reply . I find I have some time on my hands due to just having had 5 (yes 5) heart bypasses . I have a PVR-9300T which is coupled to an L.G. 37" T.V. I find that when replaying programmes that unless it is filmed outside , the picture is very dark . I've tried as many setups as I can find both on the recorder & the T.V. all to no avail ( varying degrees of brightness/contrast etc.) Any ideas would be most appreciated . Many thanks in advance . Stan .

Hello and welcome to DS, Stan, but you have put this post in the wrong forum. You should have started a new thread in the TV and Home Entertainment Technology forum. Have you had a look at Picture Perfect from AV Forums: http://www.avforums.com/home/pictureperfect.html

Find the post you want to quote.
Click on the blue 'quote' button, the first of 3 buttons on the bottom right of each post.
The quote opens up.
Type your own comment in it, under the quote.
Click on 'Submit Reply' button underneath the post.
Done!

Anybody else having a problem with the Advanced Search Function ?

I keep getting a message - " received zero sized searchd response ".

It does work very occasionally but I either get the above or sent to posts that do NOT have my search words in

Yes, I've had the same problem.
I get posts coming up that have nothing to do with what I've searched for.

A have the same problem, but it's intermittent.

Someone recently created a thread about it - Is anyone else's search not working?

I get this result using the "normal" search function too.

Sometimes I try other methods to find what I want (googling for example "HIGNFY" and "digital spy forums") and, having found it, I try a search again while actually on a page which clearly has HIGNFY in the thread title. I still get zilch. It's pretty annoying, particularly of you watch a programme a long time after it has transmitted and then want to see what other people thought about it.

This may be answered further along, but I don't have the patience to go through all the pages.
It is said that to multi-quote, you click on the centre of the 3 buttons at the bottom of a post, and it will turn red.
Mine does not turn red, should I hit quote after hitting the centre button, or should I hit quote, then the centre button, or what should I click on?

Click the middle one of all the posts you want to quote ( they don't turn red for me either ) and then the left one in the last post - then your post box will pop up

It used to turn red, but with the new style it gets a blue border round it. You may have to look closely

Why is it that when a post is typed up in capital letters, it then comes out with capital letters and small letters?

For example, I typed up this:
WHAT IS THAT OVER THERE?

Then pressed submit reply in which it then came out like this:
What Is That Over There?

Why can't it just come out in capital letters only? And is there a way to stop this?

I don't know, but it might be because posts entirely in upper case are extremely annoying to read. If it's only a small part, for accentuation, then it's not so bad.

With the advent of the Bulletin board system, or BBS, and later the Internet, typing messages in all caps became closely identified with "shouting" or attention-seeking behavior, and is considered very rude. As a result, netiquette generally discourages the use of all caps when posting messages online {source}
Think DS are trying to stop this shouting or attention-seeking behavior, but the problem is that some people overuse the bold function as an alternative.
