Viewing HDR recordings on HTPC

Can someone please tell me what I need to do in order to get recordings I've made on my Foxsat HDR to appear as Recorded TV items and play in Win 7 Media Center on my new HTPC.

I know how to get them from one machine to another and have moved one as a test. The .ts file will play OK in Media Center if I find it and select play with Media Center but it does not show up in the recorded TV Library although that is the folder I have put it in. I've tried simply changing the file types to .mpg & .wtv to no effect.

Update

After much Goggling it seems that there isn't anything available yet to convert into .wtv format. So now I've decided to settle for converting into .wmv and playing the files as videos. I've downloaded and tried a few converters but haven't found one that worked properly. Any suggestions ?
