I've only got Off the Wall and Thriller but I love them both. What's everyone's favourite?

It's a really hard choice for me, I'd probably say Dangerous, but then depending on my mood I could say Bad or Thriller, and then other times I go to Off the Wall lol.

It's mainly Dangerous though

I thought this thread would be right to post in. I'm looking for the name of a song I heard on the radio. It's quite old and I'm nearly 100% sure it was Michael Jackson singing. From the 90's I think. It's quite r'n'b/dancy. And the lyrics are similar to Billie Jean. Something about a girl being mine, I think? Can anyone help?

I love Dangerous! Yes, that's my fave.
Why do I feel like I'm betraying the others when I say that? lol

I think it might be Michael Jackson - Dangerous. (The title of the song from the album Dangerous)

Back on topic my favourite is Bad or Invincible.

Off The Wall!

just can listen to each song beginning to end and just love the Funk and Disco of it overall! It's a very sincere recording and anthemic.

Followed up by Dangerous, as an album it was recorded at a very poignant time and the genre melding and the lyrics really state that! it is a great overall album.

I never will understand how Thriller sold so much really, not keen on the album overall i must say, it's not one where i always want to go back to or anything.

Bad took a bit of time to grow on me but now i really like it!

but for me ALL THE WAY it is Off The Wall!

"LIIIIVE Life offff the waaaall!!!"

Bad for me, not a single filler track. I could happily sit and listen to it endlessly for hours, and I have in the past .

Dangerous is my 2nd. It contains some of my favourite MJ songs (Jam, In the Closet, Who Is It) but it's let down by the inclusion of 'She Drives Me Wild' and 'Can't Let Her Get Away'.

Invincible is fantastic, and totally underated, but it doesn't flow very well. It's too front heavy. Hopefully somebody will understand what i mean

HIStory is a bit hit and miss. 60% fanastic (Scream, Moscow, Little Susie, Tabloid Junkie), 40% filler (2 Bad, Money, This Time Around).

Thriller is great, but definately not his best

I never listen to Off the Wall. It doesn't do much for me atall.

I only have he's Number One's album. Which has some great songs on it.

I've been een for a while to purchase bad as my two faves are easily Smooth Criminal and Dirty Diana. But there has always been something else that props up or i don't have the money at the time.

Do i need this album in my life people.

Bad is my favourite album of MJ's. There is not one filler song on that record and if I was you, I'd definitely buy it.

^ This ^

In fact, I'd go further and say that Side 1 (in old money) of OTW is as fine a 20 minute sequence as exists in pop music.

History. A great album, with the added bonus of his greatest hits on a seperate disc. Can't really ask for much more can you?

I don't think there is a bad MJ album. Apart from the posthumous one released recently, but that doesn't count, does it.

EDIT: Special mention to Blood On The Dancefloor!

99% of people would say either Off The Wall or Thriller. They're the only two albums I've got from MJ.
None of his other albums even come close.

Massive MJ fan here - absolutely worship the man In order mine are:

Thriller - I feel Thriller is one of his weakest songs but album tracks such as Baby Be Mine and especially Lady In My Life are some of his most underated songs

Off the Wall - Joint with Thriller really, Rock With You, Get On The Floor and I can't Help it are contenders for my favourite MJ song

Invincible - very underated album I feel. Tracks like Speechless and Butterflies show that he never lost his voice.

History - brilliant mix of styles here. This Time Around again I feel is underated and Stranger in Moscow is just sublime

Dangerous - She Drives me Wild and Why You Wanna Trip on me are amazing!

Bad - my least favourite MJ album - still brilliant, but I don't listen to it as much as the others, plus the album tracks aren't as good as other album tracks from his other albums imo.

Off The Wall.

(especially if it had Billie Jean on it as well!)

When I was growing up in the early 90s, I would have said both 'Bad' and 'Dangerous' were the best Michael Jackson albums though I also had 'Thriller' and 'Off the Wall' on CD too. I played those 4 albums so much that I literally wore them out - only my original copy of 'Bad' still survives.

Nowadays though I would have to say 'Off the Wall' is in my opinion his best album. It stands the test of time and like other albums Quincy produced around the same time (e.g. George Benson's 'Give Me The Night') it has an uplifting quality that few albums manage to achieve.

I've recently listened to the original LP version of 'Rock With You' without the handclaps and extra percussion and boy it's good!

I'd say Off The Wall.I see no one has mentioned any of his early Motown solo albums

i have read that the early solo albums he did for Motown (Ben and Forever Michael etc) didn't sell very well.

back to the main topic, i would be drawn between Off The Wall and Bad. Michael Jackson made his best work under the guidance of producer, Quincy Jones who was the driving force behind his revival (comeback) and main success. if it wasn't for Q, i'm sure Michael's career would have fizzled into oblivion.
