Quick Q about the SE X10 Mini Pro
Can anyone tell me what version of Android it is currently running please?
CPW website says 1.6, the SE website does not mention the version but an accessory I want (if I buy the phone) says the phone is compatible with it but also mentions that the accessory only works with 2.0+. I have a feeling that its CPW messing up, according to them the phone wont even have a headset/earphones in the box. CPW is currently selling the phone sim free for £204 which I think is a great price so will get it in the next week or two but only if its running on 2.1 or 2.2. ![]() edit: I should have mentioned that i would like to know the version for the generic handsets, rather than a network branded/locked handset.

Yes it runs 1.6, i wouldnt touch any Xperia Android phone Sony have said that they dont plan to offer ANY OS upgrades to any of their X phones because its too much work to port all of their customisations to future versions.
Personally i wouldnt touch a phone unless it came with 2.2 Froyo minimum. |

I've got the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini on the O2 Network. I recently upgraded the OS from 1.6 to 2.1...an operation that SE have made exceptionally easy.
Great little phone in itself and even better with Android 2.1...wouldn't swap it for any phone on the market today

Why are you googling info to relay - if you don't know for sure don't say anything. Your like a doom sayer going from thread to thread claiming every phone is crap.
Ive been in 2 phone threads and i actually owned a Defy hence why i said its crap. |

Are you certain you need the Pro version as it's a lot heavier than the ordinary X10 Mini (120g as opposed to 88g) and slighly bulkier?

Can I ask anyone with experience using this phone (well, I was looking at the same phone - the X10 Mini without the slide out keyboard) - what's the battery life like on this phone?
If I were to use this phone as a basic phone, ie no data or internet use, just a few calls and texts with some photo's here and there, would it last a fair while? - i.e. - not have to charge it every day? What's the camera like on this phone? Any good? ...and finally....is it easy to text?? Cheers for any advice! |

Silky smooth touchscreen too. |

I use it basically for texting plus making the odd call...taking one or two photos. I probably charge it no more than once a week. It's a very user-friendly and informative mobile that prompts you to think about re-charging when battery power drops to under 20%. It also shows what parts of the phone are are draining battery power.
Camera, media player and radio all superb and texting easy. Silky smooth touchscreen too. As I say, my usage would be light, just the odd call and text here and there (no internet or wi-fi or anything) and just the odd photo etc.. Can I just ask another couple of questions: 1) Are the ringtones (if you have a decent MP3 one for example) quite loud on this phone? 2) Does it have a notification light feature to alert you visually to any missed calls/texts? 3) How easy is it to pop it into "silent" mode quickly (ie - just have it on vibrate)?? Cheers for any help! |

Cheers for any help! 2) Yes, a green light flashes on the top left hand corner of the screen 3) Just a simple swipe of the main screen...absolutely nothing else. They could not have made it any simpler. |

1) Downloaded a music video off YouTube, converted it to an MP3 file and it serves as my ringtone...and it can be as loud as you want it.

Actually, can I just jump in and ask something else?! Does it have any "screensaver" as in when the display goes black (into standby) you can see a digital clock or something if you peer hard enough? Or does it have a "breathe" light which pulses? I don't think it does, does it? Also: Is it a glass screen as opposed to a plastic one? Just wondering how "scratch resistant" it is! |

It has a notification light and displays clock when in stanby but obviously dependent upon your screen timeout this will dissapear after a while. im sure you can a time to display permanetly if you wish somehow probably through an app.
Screen is glass as it is capacative not resistive as for scratch resistent cant say always cover my screens sorry |

It does have as standard a 3.5mm headphone jack but does not have a qwerty keyboard but you can download a qwerty keyboard app off Android Market.
