Chris Farrell given suspended sentence
Lucky, very lucky ![]() ( )------------ A former contestant in The Apprentice has been handed a nine-month suspended sentence for fraud after he forged mortgage documents. Quote:
Christopher Farrell, 29, tried to dupe lenders by falsifying loan applications so they were more likely to be successful - and in turn increase his chances of getting bonuses. http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-...ence_For_Fraud
The former Royal Marine, who appeared in the most recent series of the show, was also ordered to carry out 200 hours' community service. |

![]() ( )He was an honourably discharged member of the armed services which I would imagine is counted as being a 'previously upstanding member of the community'. It was his first offence (at least involving dishonesty) and he did not actually steal anything from anyone. 200 hour of community service is equivalent to losing one afternoon a week every week for a year. |

He must be glad he avoided prison: he would have found out whether or not 8 hands are better than two, in the showers

I wouldn't say so - at least not to a ridiculous extent.

Remember that Chris forged these documents so he could frauduantly obtain commission - just becouse its a big faceless financial institution doesn't make it legal and as we have seen over the last few years it wasn't without victims either. |

It would be somewhat invidious if he were jailed for something for which the fat cat bankers who were the architects of the banking collapse were never brought to book. And he did not fraudulently claim commission. He was paid commission for selling the property. Which he did. |

Well, at least he pleaded guilty and admitted it, which is something. I don't defend or advocate fraud, but it is his first offence so it doesn't completely blacken his character - especially since he didn't come across badly on the show at all.
