I have friends who have been in care , I have plenty of friends from "broken homes" , my parents were divorced, I myself have never nor have any of my friends ever felt the need to kill an animal .

The guy who chucked the fire extinguisher off a roof got 2 years 8 months for violent disorder as he could have endangered life, this excuse for a human being should have received similar as she did take a defenceless life, I cannot abide people like this .

Yeah, that's pretty weak. I never get why bans are often given as the main punishment to people who are cruel to animals; this girl blatantly didn't want to be looking after one in the first place!

I saw this earlier on another web page and was absolutely shocked and upset

I have been watching a programme on benefit fraud for the last couple of weeks, and I know they have done wrong etc etc, but it is afterall only money. This was the life of a poor, defenceless kitten, and she chose to take that kittens life. The frauders get a prison sentence, or hours of community service. Why can't animal abusers, and this one was blatant, deliberate, witnessed, get to do unpaid community service in one of the wonderful animal sanctuarys/RSPCA centres? She would obviously have to be monitered, but why couldn't she help out there to show remorse etc? Makes me so, so angry when they are only banned from having animals. What punishment is that? Nothing. Make them get off their backsides and put something back into animal care.

Oh so impulsve behaviour is excusable? Give me strength

Very sickening and sad, when are we going to get proper laws and proper sentences for these halfwits,I understand the kitten killer has children, now that is frightening

The law is an ass. And I hope she gets what's coming to her one day. (And I'm talking karma and not vigilantism!)

It sickens me that crimes involving money or theft of goods and treated more seriously than those that involve such cruelty

In my opinion the priorities are all wrong

That is exactly what I said Rosemary! Makes me really angry that those crimes are treated more seriously than the crime of killing an animal or mistreatment of an animal.

The Law is indeed an Ass. Anyone who can do this kind of thing to a poor defenceless animal is also capable of doing it to a human. Social Services should keep a close eye on this monster's kids.

Totally agree with you! My reading of the details given of the event suggests to me this was not a moment of madness or lost controol, but a controlled and knowingly cruel action. I don't care what her childhood was like, she is an evil b**ch who deserved a harsher punishment than given.

If someone did this to my cats I would do something similar to them - and I am not joking.

I am against the death penalty and any torture and all of that, I do however believe in correct sentencing and this was far from correct.

And as much as I may be against violence etc if anyone deliberately harmed or caused pain to my two cats I dont think I would be responsible for my actions. Somehow though I bet the same judge would lock me up and chuck away the key .

But at least someone has made a stand

http://www.birminghammail.net/news/t...name_page.html

But Coun John Lines, the council’s Tory Cabinet member for housing, was not so forgiving. He said: “This sort of behaviour against a tiny defenceless animal is despicable and I will not tolerate it from one of our tenants.

“I have asked my officers to begin eviction procedures and we will re-allocate this home to someone who deserves

There is something seriously wrong with the justice system in this country and if something like that happened to one of my cats I wouldn't rely on a judge to make the culprit pay because too many judges are too soft. Believe me though, the culprit would pay.

To ban someone from keeping animals for 10 years, someone who clearly has no feeling or compassion for animals is more than a joke. Our judges need to go back to law school and learn what crime and punishment means because they just don't seem to know.

Exactly and when these thugs are shown they can get away with harming animals ( as some judges dont seem to rate them as important as us humans ) can we wonder why they progress in their life of crime.

This was also debated in General Discussion and I think the thread ended up being fairly lengthy.

This evil bitch's life is ruined even if the law didn't see fit to punish her.

This is a start:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...from-flat.html

Quote:
“A TEENAGE mum who threw a kitten to its death from a tower block will be evicted from her council home, it emerged yesterday.

Stacey Ravenall, 19, avoided jail after hurling four-month-old Cuwella from the 11th floor.

The pregnant mum of one had flipped after flatmate Laura Edwards, who owned the kitten, said she wanted to put the cat in a sanctuary.

Ravenall admitted animal cruelty and got a four-month suspended jail term after the city's JPs decided it had been an "impulsive act".

But the local housing committee has ordered her eviction in Yardley, Birmingham.

Tory councillor John Lines said: "This sort of behaviour is despicable and I will not tolerate it from one of our tenants.

"We will re-allocate this home to someone who deserves it."”

what a bitch. I pity the child who has her for a mother.

I love cats. it upsets me when people think they can just hurt or kill them. and get away with it.

Yes because it's silly that crimes against human beings are treated more seriously than crimes against humans.

Oh wait a minute it's not.
