**NEW** Updated Thread FTP Foxsat Media Server
Created a New Thread as information in the old thread is now out of date.
1) NEW Update Enable FTP & Telnet (on foxsat) -->http://bit.ly/hLoDTg Extract file and drop Drop this onto a usb stick - then insert into USB slot on humax - Put into Standby - HOLD standby button & it should update your humax box. 2) NEW version of Twonky ---> http://bit.ly/gQgFDl (Needed for Auto boot) (Some Versions won't auto boot this one will) ftp up to your humax, filezilla is a great ftp program, extract the new twonky into " /mnt/hd4/opt/TwonkyVision " (Ensure you create the directory with capital T and V). Ftp USER = humaxftp FTP Pass = 0000 3) 2 Scripts to Autostart Twonky --> http://bit.ly/fVPCJe drop these into " /mnt/hd4/opt/etc/init.d " Telnet to your humax and ensure you change the file permissions in twonky. Your now ready to setup Twonky - use your web browser to do this - http://IPADDRESSOFHUMAX:9000/config ---------------------------- Once done install your favourite upnp media player - I use XBMC get it from http://xbmc.org (This runs on my pc, so I can watch any video from my humax) You should now be able to view what's recorded onto any upnp device. http://i56.tinypic.com/zwkkuf.jpg <--- Displays Recordings http://i51.tinypic.com/10dtsb5.jpg <--- watching DR Who On Ipad - Foxsat to Ipad. HUGE Credits to raydon & mogie now become legends ! |

Cheers, Rob It streams tv programs without any juddering, perfect clear video and audio, virtually identical to pc version - there is " Air Player " i'll try that now and see how that goes, from what I read it was pretty crap. |

So, what's new about it? What's changed compared with the previous one?
opt all the apps (twonky) can now be moved into " OPT " folder and a auto start script is setup, for apps to start from standby. http://i55.tinypic.com/2ah6wc0.jpg << Screenshot Everything is moved from your music folder too, (setup etc) thats returned back to normal. |

wow Buzz Player is really good - allows you to download the entire recording onto the ipad - handy if your out on the road, and watch back later - you can now easily fast forward through the video really fast (If your streaming it from your humax)

Thanks filmman Did you telnet to your box and change permissions on your twonky dir. to test your Twonky is in correct dir etc, download and run this http://www.4shared.com/file/v_3cOU3I/StartTwonkyUP.html click " StartTwonkyHDR " then see if it brings up twonky in a webpage http://humaxip:9000/config if twonky won't start - you need to telnet and change permissions in twonky |

I'm buying a appletv next week, looking to jailbreak and install XBMC onto it - all reports are saying audio and video are perfect on playback - so far its the only working app on appletv to play back humax videos. |

its one of 2 things now.
start twonky again with the script login into twonky via webpage down the left look for network in advanced setup " Tick " nicrestart: save changes and re-start twonky then see if that's fixed it. if that fails re-upload the 2 autoscripts but make sure in filezilla they go up in binary - apparently there is a issue doing a transfer in Ascii |

Twonky server config
The setup page crashes IE 9 beta - but compatability mode is fine (just in case anyone else is running it).
After setup I needed to restart TonkyServer (from the setup page). All working fine now - Thanks to all. |

I've managed to get twonky up and running. Some questions about the FTP though, can I FTP movies straight to my PC? (The movie files seem small). Also I have a Humax freesat+ and a normal freesat box. Is it possible to stream from the freesat+ to the freesat?

If size is small probably wrong files, the ".ts" file is the video and the only one needed to play on a pc, generally several gb for a film. You can transfer yes but remember HD recordings are encrypted and will not play.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong but via FTP I go into HD3 then Movies and all I get are .tac files when I look inside the folder of the movie I want to watch.
.ts should be the movies / programs |
