this show now being filmed in soft focus? i'm talkin about that vaseline over the lens technique that shows like dynasty/colbys use to use to hide the females wrinkles.. Normally I wouldnt care but the glossy look is just not very eastenders..Feels like a different show

Am I the only 1 thats noticed this?

No I started a thread saying the same last night and I don't like it either. The contrast in dark scenes is really terrible. I hope they don't stick to this and go back to normal soon.

No, you're not the only one who's noticed, OP. A few of us have been moaning on here about it. It's really jarring. It was bad enough having to put up with it on Dynasty but at least it sort of suited the glossy unreality of that show. But is looks so out of place on "gritty" Eastenders.

it's just another one of Kirkwoods attempts to make the show all sleazy

Its probably more the Beeb just testing things out but it really doesn't suit EE at all. I spent most of Thursday night trying to fix the contrast on the TV as I thought someone had been messing about with it but then it was just the same last night which is when I realised they must have changed the way it was being filmed.

It might have some to do with HD? I haven't noticed it in HD but if you switch back to non-HD you can certainly see the difference.

I don't think I've actually noticed it. I'll have to have a good look when it's on.

I've noticed the lighting seems softer. Certainly nothing 'terrible'. Some people are so melodramatic!

The lighting is a disgrace, in fact the who look and feel of the show smacks of new age desperation. Last nights episode was the first we have viewed since November and apart from crap storylines, acting ect I can honestly say the fog eyes look of the production is insulting to the viewer. HD means sharper, clearer images Kirkwood you asshole not the total opposite.

Actually I did notice last night how appalling the lighting was in the club scenes with Ian and Phil. I also thought the contrast on my telly had gone funny. They were too cloudy. Those were the only scenes which were bad though.

Haha, I didn't notice the show was now being shot in soft focus, but I did notice that Christian was looking a bit more rejuvenated. Initially, I thought he had started using a new brand of fake tan. Too bad Shirley looks the same.

I was thinking it might have something to do with hd to it does look a bit different, doesn't really affect programme hugely imo tho
