Is it evil...?

...to make the celebs choose who is to be saved after the skate-off ?

I don't really care about this silly twist (BB idea).
It is the programme makers making another desperate attempt to cause controversy and keep the show in the headlines.
All I want to see is the actual skating and the progression of the learners.
Let's face it these celebs are not going to boot certain people off the show like Johnson.
They will go for whoever they consider to be the least popular celebrity with the viewers or the least well known and not the worst skating performance on the night.

I hope you are wrong Mrsspoon.

I think it would be more evil in a few weeks time when the chances of the top few would have been able to be in the bottom 2. As it is chances are its a couple of the bottom 6 really.

I don't see the problem really. Its not as if they have to live in the same house after the vote and be shown on 24 hour live feed.

In the first few weeks its usally pretty obvious who should be voted off in the skate off. I am pretty for example that a certain ex cricketer will go tonight.

It's not evil as such, just a really silly choice for a 'big' twist they've hyped up like this. It's good for Big Brother, but in DOI the relationships between the contestants isn't the key element!

I'd quite like the contestants to choose who to save every week. Even the weakest of them has more ice dancing experience than 2 of the judges.

It's not even particularly interesting, far less evil. Not that evil is what I want.

I think if the contestants are clever they will vote off the person who is worse, if they vote off who is better to get rid of competition they will become unpopular with the public and find themselves in the bottom 2 soon. saying that Kerry will probably vote off the competition

She won't. Even if she was that way inclined (which I doubt, despite her ill-advised comment), she has a sensible team around her who will realise that such actions would be idiotic in terms of public reaction.

This twist isn't evil The celebs will simply go for whoever was worst on the night (or over the past few weeks if it's close). I'd be very surprised if we get any surprise tactical votes.

it's a bit of a pointless twist, will probably just have the same outcome as the judges vote. Only think it could possibly do is cause tension between the celebrities but we won't even see that so it doesn't matter/

Exactly. All the contestants' PR people will have them well briefed on how to proceed tonight (especially Kerry's - most of the others would know without being told). The programme-makers would also know this when they took this decision. That's what makes it pointless. Apart from the publicity that announcing it has brought, that is. The 'twist' itself will be a damp squib.

Not evil, but just unnecessary meddling which is not needed and a desperate way to force tension BB style

Why do they feel they need these twists when the show was ticking on nicely before without them

hope it doesn't end up as tactical voting

Tactical voting

Never thought I would see those words in the DOI forum

BB forum yes, but not this one

But I suppose the only upside is that this may wake this part of the forum up seeing how quiet the DOI section has been so far

I hate to say it but i can see people voting tactically... or if not that voting for thier friends instead of who was the better skater

It would hve been better if they could have just voted and not had the public vote, they could have voted for anyone, that would have been more interesting, there is still to many crap skaters in to matter who goes

It's not evil or interesting. The show isn't based around the relationships between the contestants and I don't think anyone is going to vote tactically because they won't want to risk a public backlash. I can't see anything dramatic happening.

Seems that twist didn't even wake this part of the forum up

And who can blame people, no suspense and we all knew who would be staying anyway

And they wonder why people pan this year's show

It is disgusting, just imagine if it had been Kerry and Laura in the bottom two, or Chloe and Denise and they vote off the better skater just so they have less to compete against?
