Low signal on Galaxy S?

On my iPhone signal was never that great at home, I got nothing inside but outside 3/4bars or even at a window I got 3/4 bars.

On this Galaxy S at the same spot I got 3/4 bars on my iPhone I get nothing or 1 at best. Oddly however I tried to make a call with 1 bar and it was fine, no break ups etc. so unless the Galaxy S is miss reporting signal strength

Anyone else with these issues?.

Maybe you had the old iPhone software which gave you exaggerated bars.

The new iPhone software fixes the exaggerated bars which also had the problem of showing visible signal drop when touched.

If there is any industry standard Apple has now switched to it.

Still different reporting ?
There is meant to be a way of getting actual db signal levels.

Did the iPhone then change from 5 to 4 or maybe it only 3, 2 and 1 previously elevated.

I misread it when it said you were getting a call. That was on 1 bar only of course.

Assuming it is the same mobile company and both or none use roaming, it sounds duff.
Maybe check to see if you have any mobile band restrictions set?

The "On this Galaxy S at the same spot I got 3/4 bars on my iPhone I get nothing or 1 at best." confused a little being almost in reverse write.
