Toshiba RD100 HDD/DVD Recorder
Hi
Have a query regarding the above machine. Have had a programme set on series record. For the last 4 weeks, it's recorded the correct programme, as you would expect. Last night, the recorder started at the correct time, finished at the correct time, the programme TITLE states the correct programme and channel, yet the playback is of a film from a different channel. Coincidentally, I'd recorded this film only a few days previously and the recording last night started at about the same time as my previous recording (missed the first couple of minutes). So has my recorder recorded something from it's own disc, from a different input (have the satellite connected via scart) or simply from a different channel. Can anyone tell me what went wrong and what to do to avoid this happening in the future? |

do a manual recording is only way of ensuring it doesnt happen
especially for Footbal Cup Finals with extra time and penalties TV companies can mix up details sometimes |

That's hardly taken advantage of the machines features is it? It's a new machine, bought just before Christmas.
There was no mix up with the tv company. The machine was programmed to record from BBC1. The title says it DID record from BBC and has the correct programme title, we even watched the programme as it was recording. The playback actually shows a film which is marked in the corner as being from ITV2. |

If you are adamant that there was no mix up from the TV company then the blame must be with you
page 37 and 38 of your manual state about your external/satellite equipment. could be you changed channel on your satellite, and scart control changed the channel to get recorded doesnt look like a Twin Tuner , cannot find out what firmware the current sets should be on. I repeat ............... if its really important programme , a manual record starting 5 mins before and say 15 mins after a programme due to finish is only way to guarantee success . or you get a twin tuner .................. watch one channel record another |

No, I HAVEN'T made a mistake. The recorder has been set to "series record" via the EPG and it has successfully done this for the last four weeks. I've made no changes so it should have just done the same this week. As previously stated, when viewing the title list, it states it recorded from BBC and gives the correct programme name. If i'd changed it to record something from sky (which I didn't), it would say I've recorded from AV2 and not give a programme name at all.
Obviously just a bug. |

you could wait for the next Over The Air Update ?
it does go on a bit in your manual ......................... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz however one thing is if a recording is near by , it records that ........... or something like that. Its not the easiest to understand Are you sure Scart control on satellite didnt shift it ? |
