He's too good and it's just boring.

I know I should be liking him because he's good, but he's too good for the competition and I think we've seen too much too fast.

I agree. And it's so obvious that he's going to win too. For me, the real winner will be whoever finishes 2nd now.

I like him. I'm not terribly invested in who wins at this stage so I just enjoy watching him.

Ray Quinn was good very good right from the beginning and he who, its not his fault, it is a pleasure to watch him, Laura is a close second as well.

I like him too. It's nice to see someone who can skate a bit. How dull it would be if all the men were like the cricket bloke or Johnson and the lifts he does are really difficult, even for experienced ice dancers. He still has room for improvement and I'm looking forward to how he tackles the spin. Chris Fountain is the only one who has managed it well so far. Even Ray struggled with it.

The only struggle Ray had was remembering not to 'spot'

I find Sam a bit boring to watch, he has the Skating down but I find his "finishing" needs work, there is no problem in that, something to work on!!! I found Ray far more exciting to watch.

Sam's a great skater, but somehow it's all a bit boring - I felt the same way about Chris Fountain - technically able, but not particularly engaging. Ray Quinn was artistically in another league, he had a mesmerising qualty that, for me, Sam lacks, good as he is.

Can any dancers on here explain what 'spotting' is for me - thanks

I couldn't really take to Ray, Kyran or Chris Fountain but I find myself really warming to Sam. I appreciate his abilities and thoroughly enjoy his performances.

That was the point, it threw him off balance. He did manage it in the performance without over balancing, but it wasn't a confident fast spin like Chris Fountain.

Didn't like Sam at the start, but he's growing on me. He's a little too tall for his pro partner though -- she looks like a midget next to him. They do look odd together.

I don't find him as interesting to watch as Chris Fountain or Ray, who were both engaging in different ways. They had something that he lacks IMO.

I don't mind a ringer-esque skater being in the competition too much if they're really enjoyable to watch, but I prefer watching both Laura and Vanilla to Sam at the moment.

spotting is where the dancer looks at a spot while doing a spin. You see ballerina's doing it when they spin on ponts. On the ice, if you do that you lose your balance. The head has to stay in line with the body if that makes sense.

Here's a more technical explanation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spotting_(dance_technique)

I think Sam is great and not in the least boring. He was the only one I actually watched all through tonight.

I preferred Sam's routine last week; I do have the feeling they're giving him less skating so the others catch up which is a shame because I enjoy watching him skate.

He's not my favourite, but I like him. I think the show would be far more boring if he wasn't in it.

I never understand why people complain about competent contestants; surely it's more interesting to see decent routines? We have a mix this year; rubbish people, people who have potential and are improving, and then Sam who provides interesting routines. Good mix for me!

This^ and I know it`s not the general consensus but I don`t want him to win, much rather see Chloe or Laura do that.

I agree with you Gill.

I think he is great to watch and far from boring.

Good skater but there is something lacking, I think its charisma.
