If you have made your point succintly and clearly there is no point in entering a pointless agressive debate about it. The forum will decide who's wrong or right, and you can decide whether any responses are worth responding to.

You need not fear the more articulate FMs of this forum - if you truly believe what you say, stick to your guns.

I like to think I'm reasonably intelligent and legible with my posts.

People will come onto the forum and start a mini war for no reason, then go away again once others have stamped on them. Fact of life I'm afraid.....

There are plenty of sensible FMs, who have been around for a long time, and know the score. These are generally the ones to talk to for good conversation and meaningful dialogue. Sometimes it goes off half-cocked, sometimes it doesn't.

No need for Cakeymoo or Holly to scared or worried about what they post. As long as it's not deliberately inflammatory, most FMs will accept your point of view, although not always agree.

As for any nasty remarks toward you in reply posts, just do as most people do ... accept the good, sensible views, and disregard the bad. It's your choice at the end of the day.

Why do things get rude, nasty, personal, abusive?

I've said it before but I'll say it again.....

Because everyone has their own subjective opinion of who's good and who's not. They'll have their own reasons for liking them, hating them, finding them entertaining, finding them watchable, finding them worthy of winning or not.

It's all highly subjective and not something that you can argue logically or perform a complex mathematical equation to work out who the best HM is. Best doesn't exist (it's incalculable) you can only have a favourite and that's why it gets bitchy as you can never reach a consensus as to who's best (and who's worst for that matter) - it's down to personal preference and personal preference is a very difficult corner to argue without an objective or logical formula for 'best' - so it becomes a slanging match because no matter how much you argue you can't convince someone that vanilla ice cream is better than chocolate ice cream or vice versa - so it all breaks down, people become frustrated that others cannot taste that vanilla is better than chocolate - of course they can't as their taste buds have been brought up differently in a different mouth. All those mouths are here on this forum mouthing off their opinion.

It's an irreconcilable discussion/argument that leads to frustration, anger, personal abuse and plain base rudeness.

I strongly disagree: to me it is a condensed and intensive portrayal of how human beings really interact. I think the whole spectacle includes the fms on this board and the crowd on eviction nights and the voting public.
