I've had my current phone contract with Three for 16 months at the moment and am currently wondering whether to stick with them and get an upgrade or go onto pay as you go. I pay £13 a month for unlimited internet, 5000 3 to 3 calls, 100 mins and 5000 texts. I mainly use my phone for texting and the Internet-I rang the other day to see what offers they were willing to give me but I didn't get very far (I know you used to be able to upgrade at the 15th month for free but they told me at the moment I'd need to pay a £20 upgrade fee, which they later took off further into the call). They offered me the phone I wanted (Nokia 5230) for free on a 24 month (!) contract at £15 a month, then they lowered it to £13 on an 18 month contract the same as I have now. When I said I wanted to think about it they offered me £8 a month if I kept my current phone and just had a sim deal (I didn't get that as I told them the reason I'm looking to upgrade is to upgrade my handset, the Nokia E63 which keeps turning on and off). They didn't seem to listen and even rung me later on in the day to see if I wanted the £8 contract again.

If I wait are they likely to call closer to the end of my contract and offer me a better deal-I've seen threads from a few years ago where people were offered half price line rental/free line rental for so many months or have they stopped offering that now? The reason I wanted to upgrade as soon as possible was to get money from recycling my old phone as it's depleting in value on the recycling sites as each month passes and everyone's trying to get rid of these handsets.

I currently hold 2 contracts with them, both due to expire at the same time and before that I had an 18 month contract so I've been a customer for quite a while.
