Mine would be:

Beyonce- Single Ladies, I think it's a bit boring and can't believe it was a worldwide smash.

Anything that's been in the top 10 chart since 1998.

Crazy Frog, Hamster Song, Lady GaGa, Blue, Scooter, NDubz, 50Cent, Rusko, the list is endless.

If THAT'S music of the modern generation I reckon i'll stick to what I know best.

I Gotta Feeling- Black Eyed Peas

it's just a incoherent jumble of what sounds like 5 different songs.

Music is very much personal taste. thats why some songs are popular that you dont like. I love Led Zeppelin for eg, but when they came out I was told by my 'elders' it was just tuneless nose made by talentless people.
They could never understand why I loved it so much.
Sound familiar?

More like 1992-ish.

Umbrella by Rhianna. Am I the only person in the world who thinks this song is total crap.

Anything by Amy Winehouse.

That's the one that immediately sprung to mind. I get why a lot of party-goers liked it, but I never understood why it was SUCH a huge-seller worldwide, when it's really nothing any more special or more exciting than any other dance song

How very ignorant of you, since 1998/2. May i asked have you listened to any songs and if i come to your house and see your cd collection/ singles/ itunes playlist etc i will NOT find a single song above those dates.

Some people are very narrow minded.

That Mad World cover that was a Christmas number one. It is total, utter dreck and there's barely anything remotely 'musical' about it.

Narrow minded?. Why?. because you don't agree?.

Of course I've listened to songs since 1992. I just think the 90s and 00s on the whole were pretty crap decades for music. There's always exceptions. I like Connection by Elastica, Girls and Boys by Blur, Goldfrapp.
Most of my albums are from the 70s and 80s. I like the 60s as well.

I agree. I hate that song. Even the beat is annoying and like club type songs.

I really do wonder. It was extremely annoying IIRC. I've heard better on computer games.

Remove those rose-tint specs. Trashy nonsense got number ones in the past and still does in the present. The trash may be trashier but its still quite in spirit the same.

Same here. Just change the year to 1988.

Also "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" - how does a spoken essay over a backing track reach number one???
