He could well be about the right weight, he is not the feline equivalent of the obese human slobs you sometimes see,”

The other thing to look at is his body structure. Siamese cats are long and lean naturally. Other cats have a much more solid, compact, square bodies. Think of the difference between a greyhound and a rottweiller....both dogs but with very different bone structures. Same with cats.

My mum's cat in the west indies is only two but very big for his age. Most people don't keep pets over there so he looks massive to everyone. My sister is worried for him as he was sleeping a lot and off his food for a while. She says he has a 'fatty bit' hanging down from his tummy.

That's because he's been neutered, I would think. My neutered male cat has this too - it's a common side effect. I've had a real tom cat and he never had this. My neutered male is almost twice the size of my old tom-cat but he's not overweight, just big. Both are 1/2 siamese but the neutered male has a much longer body than the tom-cat. He's just a big, lovable bear!

Last time I saw him he was a little kitten, I will be visiting my Mum this year so will see how big he is! So your cat got this pouch too? We were getting worried because he sometimes sleeps so much and was off his food for a while, he has also been a bit anxious since being in the cattery and because my Mum has dogs, he can't go outside.

To help you along a bit:

16 ounces to 1 pound
14 pounds to 1 stone
2.2 pounds to 1 Kg

cats do eat other cats food if they can get into gardens/houses to eat it.

I cant get my head around the size myself. Guinness is 9kgs possibly 10kgs. He is one of the biggest cats my vets have seen. He weighs around 21lb or a stone and a half.. It would work out at 4 Guinness
