Sure don't, you know how I don't like slow paced stories, the Silurian is the classic snail pacer, esepcially in Episode 6.....:yawn::yawn::yawn::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep:

Plus the incidental music is soooooo annoying!

Sadly, I was never much of a fan of the Pertwee era, at least in comparison to most of the rest of classic Who. Loved his first season, liked bits of his last, thought most of the stuff in between was OK but not outstanding. I just don't think Pertwee's action man persona fits with the Doctor as played by most of the others. I'll give it a go, though...

Best:

1) Spearhead from Space
2) Inferno
3) The Ambassadors of Death
4) Doctor Who and the Silurians
5) The Time Warrior

Worst:

1) Day of the Daleks (a very unimpressive return for the Daleks after four seasons' absence)
2) The Monster of Peladon (inferior sequel to a decent enough story)
3) The Claws of Axos (easily the dullest Delgado Master story)
4) Colony in Space (not actually bad, but overlong and padded)
5) Planet of the Spiders (as above)

"...The Silurians", and two Dalek stories in your bottom five? Seriously?

Where does that leave "Planet Of The Daleks"?

Oh, if only Pertwee had acted in at least one Cybermen story...

"Spearhead From Space" has got to be the best debut story of any Time Lord - in colour, at least.

"Frontier In Space" is notable for featuring an alien enemy race called the Draconians
who should have been used in a few more stories - sadly, they turned out to be a one-off.

The Daemons is a funny one. For years it was one of my faves, maybe based on nostaligia and the excellent Barry Letts novelisation, but it really hasn't stood the test of time. So, hear goes...

The Green Death

Was nice that the Draconians were part of the Alliance in The Pandorica Opens, maybe SM will bring these back at some point soon. One of the best looking aliens of the classic era.

It was very close to being in mine as well!

It's never been the most popular of stories so I don't see why it being in someone's bottom 5 is that shocking.

Just didn't cut it for me, too long, too much chasing around, just a timefiller.

It was in my Bottom Five as well. The story isn't one of the better Dalek ones and Jon Pertwee's performance was as about as straightlaced and moralistic as it ever was. No eccentricity anywhere at all.

And toy Daleks as the Ice Army didn't help either......

Oh yeah the toy Daleks, fogotten that!!! But I guess if the story is good enough, shite visuals can be forgiven considering age etc...I love the Green Death but that fly!! And the maggots aren't that convincing in many scenes either...

I quite agree. Though he has his moments in season 7.

I knew someone would say that - and with it being a reunion story, it does not count!

Pertwee should have acted in at least one Cybermen story, when he was The Doctor - end of.

I like Day, I think the Ogrons were a great addition and would love to see them make a return. Plus, a story actually about time itself, which is pretty rare in Who.

I really liked Death when I first saw it, but I don't think it's aged that well. Considering how much I love Daleks, there's been a high number of misses from their appearances!

I find Day of the Daleks very dull and the Daleks themselves particularly unimpessive in it. Particularly the canary yellow Dalek Supreme. Death to the Daleks isn't as bad but it's still mediocre at best.

No matter what anyone says: they must come out on DVD, this year!

Harsh. He may have been as far removed as any Dr from the others (like Tennant I guess), but I don't think you can possibly say he wasn't a good actor. He had charisma, charm and was equally at home with humour, action or drama. And what a voice!!
