To be fair, the aggression was a lot down to Shirley...it can't be nice to hear your mother being bad mouthed when she can't defend herself.

Shirley was just trying to get some aggression out of Chelsea. It's not really in her nature, so it wasn't an easy task. I've seen much more one-dimensional pasos be praised, so the judges are hardly consistent.
He seems really affected by the judges comments this year. I'm not sure why; they've been harsh on professionals who have taken risks before. |

He shouldn't have done that gesture...put looking again I do think it was rolling the dice, as he opened up his hand as part of the gesture, rather than letting it drop. Just an opinion.

I get your point and it did have a lot of paso elements in it but to be fair to Len he never said that it didn't He said it was too aggressive throughout I thought he was trying to say that there was no light and shade just attack and they still got a 8.
And regarding Mark

Donnie's comment about the routine was spot on (as were all his comments during the evening.) Put simply a dance isn't just about ticking off syllabus steps - one has to have the feel of the traditional dance if one is going to call one's dance by the traditional name. Otherwise it should be called a "freestyle inspired by the Paso". |

I've caught up now. I'm not sure about that hand gesture of Mark's. I think he did start out trying to be rude then try and cover it up. Whatever it was it was ill advised to make any kind of hand gesture at that point. He could have just said that he took a gamble with the choreography when he was speaking with the presenter. I don't think anyone was actually having a go at Shirley Ballas. She tried to get the intensity out of Chelsea, which she did in rehearsals, but Chelsea ended up pulling a scowl and pout throughout the dance which isn't what she was meant to do.
Personally I think it would have been better if Shirley hadn't advised on her own son's routine. |

To me Mark is coming off, especially this season, as a very very desperate person. Perhaps since he thinks he can finally win this season (since Derek isn't on the show) he thinks he has to over do everything, but he is clearly over the top in his dancing (showing up his partner too much) and in general is acting like the show is about him.
It's fair enough to criticise about the lack of tradition, but most of the dances are highly watered-down anyway. Some dances have been highly praised when they are more like Freestyle dances, and some very suspect technique has been praised to the high heavens this season e.g. Hines' Rumba. All very odd. |

Shirley asked for Passion and for Chelsea to be serious not once (on the vt anyways) did she mentioned aggression that was Mark. They weren't bad mouthing Shirley at all in fact they didn't badmouth anyone they just said they were too aggressive.

![]() ![]() Ralph has now developed his "dancer's" body. I didnt mind the guyliner as well I am massively worried he is going home tonight. I even registered to send him some votes. Well every little helps Thought the judges were very unfair to him, especially Len, who seems to have it in for him this season. Len never likes anyone I like and you could see after his cha cha, he was in massive amounts of pain.Karina's choreography has been nothing short of stunning, I think the waltz, quickstep and VW were the best choreographed, and possibly danced I've ever seen. Been reading the message boards on ABC, looks like no-one wants to predict who's going. Looks like Kirstie's fanbase will keep her in..........*fingers crossed* for me that it is Romeo, as the next weakest dancer [after Kirstie IMO] I need a Ralph fix.....going off to see "the fire down below" ![]()
