We've been downoading the series, and it's the best yet, it knocks Striclty into a cocked hat. ABC manage to keep it fresh and interesting week on week in a way that the BBC never does. It's even worth putting up with the inane Brooke Burke Overall, it's such a great show that Strictly is going to be a real comedown in the autumn.

For those who are following in Hines and Kym, it is being reported on the entertainment news that Kym has had an injury and was "rushed" to the hospital. I don't know how serious it is and they said they would update her condition as the news came in.

I really can't understand why Watch decided not to go with it this series. It's been great!

I hope she's alright. I suppose one of the other pros can always stand in for her, but it's never the same.

I reckon they were asked for more money than they were prepared to spend - have to have egg on their faces now as it is the top rated show in the US at the moment, what station wouldn't want to show the top US show? Oh yeah, Watch TV

Update on Kym from Hines.

Hines Ward
I want to update you on my partner Kym. Kym was admitted to the hospital today after falling and injuring her neck during our practice. After several tests, she was cleared by the medical staff but she is bruised, sore and wearing a neck brace right now. Kym plans to continue with me in the competition and get back to rehearsals as soon as possible. Steeler Nation - please show her some love. She is awesome! Hines

There are several things I've liked about this series, as a series
which I think would translate to Strictly

"guilty pleasures week" good to hear why the celebs made the song choices they did. Would give a "theme" to a week...not sure about the other themes though. Classical was good, but for me only for the ballroom dances, it didnt work for the latin

Team cha cha dance....getting final 6 contestants to split into 2 groups and do a routine.

Encore dance...great idea to see one of the best dances again

I like the "bottom 2" not necessarily one of the couples getting the next lowest number of votes, keeps the public guessing.

I think Brooke is a 100 times better than Tess, she seems to ask almost intelligent questions

Very worried aobut this "winner takes all cha cha" the abc forum boards see it as an excuse for Len to get his favourite dancer to the final...now where have I heard that before

glad Kym is better. Hines has got to be a shoo in for the final
and Ralph's knee is on the mend Ralph and Hines have exactly the same dances this week, that should be interesting

Crickey, even with her neck in a brace they where fairly rattling her about a bit in that gurney. Hope her neck in a brace was just precausionary.

I thought the last series of SCD was the best yet and this current DWTS was feeling a little flat (though I'm still enjoying it). Good job we're not all the same - life would be very boring. Completely agree with you about Brooke, though!

BIB - aargh!

Brooke does my head in. Nothing she says is natural or unscripted: "You had a hard time from the judges, how does that feel?", "You were at the bottom of the leader board, how does that feel?" or, exciting varient, "You were top of the leaderboard, how do you handle the pressure?". I wouldn't mind if she even listened to the answers, but they speak and she says, "Alright! Tom...." You can see behind her eyes that the gallery's speaking in her ear and she isn't hearing anything else .

Sorry - feels better to have got that off my chest

Good to hear Kym's okay.

I think someone on here said "Samantha come back and all will be forgiven" and I have to say I agree. Samantha could be awkward and occasionally embarassing but she was genuine and warm. I felt she wasn't scripted and perhaps that is why there were the awkward moments with her. I miss her warmth. I have never understood why they did not go with Mel B. for that job if they were looking to bring in new. She could have matched Tom's quickness and also be warm and engaging with the interviews.

I think Mel would have been a great choice. I wasn't a Samantha fan, but she did at least have some humanity!
