Was it a link that worked? Can you post it at all?

Only need to see Maks and Kirstie in HQ.

Thanks.

I havent watched them all yet but Wendy Williams instantly alienated herself to me when she asked Tony who he was......talk about not doing your research and showing yourself up as not having taken any interest in DWTS before being asked to do it. Can you imagine the DS going into meltdown if one of the Celebs didnt know who their pro was at introduction. If you dont then for goodness sake dont let on.

I know. They are all abuzz about it on the forums. Even though Mike Catherwood was awful and had the lowest scores (unless he is particularly bad next week) Wendy might be first one to go. I don't what kind of fan base she has. Tony's face was priceless.

You mean like the masses of housewives who didn't vote for a 'pretty girl' like Kara Tointon?

Oh, and by the way, Ms Nemcova is 31 and therefore not a 'girl' but a beautiful woman.

Yes, that surprised me!

I've just watched the episode online, and really enjoyed it. I have so many favourites! I enjoyed Ralph Macchio and Romeo and Chris Jericho and the football player, and even Kirstie Alley (who I usually find very irritating).

No, not til next Tuesday. They had one dance this week, a second (either latin or ballroom, whichever they didn't do this week) next Monday, and then elimination on Tuesday. They only had one show this week, move to two (Monday & Tuesday) from next week.

Thanks for the links!

My favourites were Chelsea and Ralph. Kirsty was good but I don't think she's going to be amazing all round. Just a hunch.

Chelsea and Mark, adorable!! Loved the routine, it was so cute and uplifting and they seem like they'll be great fun to watch. She could either be a Shawn (popular and loveable) or an Audrina (talented, likeable but forgotten about). I like her anyway.

Okay, how cute is Ralph for a 49 year old?! I cannot believe his age!! He looks so good! And he can dance!! Big thumbs up!

Has Ralph had previous experience? People have been saying that he has done some tap dancing in the past. That hardly makes him a ringer, but I don't like it when celebs try to pretend that they are total novices when they aren't.

Well, if he has previous dance experience, he wasn't showing it! For all that it was a very entertaining dance, and he threw his heart and soul into it, his hands were DREADFUL, he needs to work on his posture and it was all a bit of a mess. Still, for commitment and exuberance, he deserved his spot at the top of the leader-board.

I personally think it's very difficult for any actor or entertainer to have totally avoided at least some dance training in the past; actors need basic skills in a lot of related disciplines if they are to be in work. As you say, it doesn't make him a ringer, but he might as well be a novice given the expertise he failed to show.

I wasn't that impressed either. He was still better than most of them, which admittedly isn't saying much. I'm surprised Len liked his performance so much.

quick thoughts as I watch

Spoiler

Sugar Ray: Tries Hard, lacks Technique.

Kendra: Nice "Chesticles" (copyright Len) Manic, but I can't help but like her effort, she seems genuine, which weirdly enough brings me to...

Chelsea: This season's ringer, obviously a stage school style kid, but Mark has screwed her over two weeks in a row with his choreography.

Chris Jericho, Y2J: My boy came good, classic quickstep, I worried a bit after last week, but "the Highlight of the Night" came good.

Petra: Doesn't hurt that she's tall and gorgeous, rough around the edges, but room for improvement

Kirstie: not bad. couple of mistakes, you forget she's 60 years old

Mike: much improved, and the Jive is not easy, definitely not Bolton bad. Good in places, but seemed to lose it in the transitions. Too be honest, the fact that Lacey hardly wore anything during the rehearsals and performance was a bit distracting Is it wrong to want someone to stay in just for their pro

Romeo: these VT's are not helping, smug ,arrogant and condecending. As for the dancing? Much better than last week, quickstep seems a good dance for the boys. but i'm not feeling it, probably due to the VT's I mentioned.

Wendy: if there is any justice, the first out, sorry Tony. It was really weird, the music was Basement Jaxx's "Do your thing" but was slowed down for her and sounded like the wrong speed was set on the record player. The song meant I also had Mark/Shawn's freestyle in my head, which meant it was always going to suffer in comparison.

Ralph: It was Good, but not quite right. (Copyright Roy Walker) seemed a lot of content in his jive, quantity over quality it seemed

Hines: Really quite good. As I said the quickstep seems a good fit for the boys from last week.

They only gave a combined score for the each couple, never showed the leaderboard, but I make it Jericho and Hines with the best scores of night with 23?

So if I understand the scoring system for the show, (which is different from the UK one) they total all the scores then assign the contestant a percentage based on their percentage of the total score.

So from the first two weeks we have the following scores...

Spoiler

name/total score/percentage
Ralph and Karina 45 10.63829787
Hines and Kym: 44 10.40189125
Kirstie and Maks: 43 10.16548463
Chris and Cheryl: 42 9.929078014
Romeo and Chelsie: 42 9.929078014
Chelsea and Mark: 39 9.219858156
Kendra and Louis: 37 8.747044917
Petra and Dmitry: 36 8.510638298
Sugar Ray and Anna: 34 8.037825059
Wendy and Tony: 31 7.328605201
Mike and Lacey: 30 7.092198582

This is then added to the public vote percentage.
so in these early weeks it's almost entirely about the public vote, the actual way the dancing scores are used make it too close to call.
