![]() Can you confirm that you can program multiple key presses to one button on this device? It talks about 'macros' on the One For All page for the device, I was disappointed to discover that you couldn't do that on the Harmony 300 as it can be helpful to overcome some of the Humax UI annoyances. |

Replacement for Humax Remote
Harmony 600 will control 5 devices and will do what you need. The remote allows you to set up activities like "Watch TV", whereby one button will switch on all the necessary components for the activity, switch your TV to the correct input, allocate which device you want to control the volume, etc, etc. - then another button will turn everything off when you're done.
It's not perfect and can take a bit of setting up depending on what kit you have, but well worth the trouble.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-915...6717312&sr=8-1 |

This looks like a good solution.

The jp1 website is the place to go. |

Perhaps it's cos I'se getting old BUT
Having been delighted with setting up the Harmony 300late at night on line.. BUT sadly when it comes to using it the next day.. i cannot remember what buttons I have allocated to the buttons on the Harmony.. ![]() ![]() ![]() I bet there are a range of ideas that people have had perhaps using stick on labels from unconnected equipment etc.. I am not artistic so do not want to spoil the Remote whilst it's new looking.. Anyone? Ta Stan |

In the meantime, perhaps a simple drawing of the remote with the non obvious buttons marked? |

If you have a scanner on your computer, scan the remote (or photograph it) and label the buttons. After a while it will become second nature what does what.

Set my Harmony 300 up on Saturday morning.
Got to say I am impressed and very happy with it although a plastic finger on the end of a broom handle would have seemed more effective than the supplied Hummy remote. Anyway I only really needed Opt+ and Media set up as 1 & 2 (although I did set up two others just for the hell of it). Other than that I think just about everything else is covered by the existing buttons. Have I missed something important? |

The Koreans seem keen on Opt+ buttons, the DigitalStream also has one. I programmed it onto the Harmony 300's "Live" button which comes easily to hand (or rather thumb) near to the cursor keys (strangely, the 600 doesn't appear to have a button at this location). As Opt+ is white on the DS, a dab of Tippex on the button was a useful reminder of its function. There's a good picture of the 300 remote in post #537 near the foot of page in this AVforums thread here. I copied the image, imported it into an Excel spreadsheet and added the new button functions surrounding it. A further trick was to make the image a negative so that black line "pointers" from the labels to buttons showed up more clearly. Cheers, Alan. |

If you have a silvercrest 10 in 1 remote (Lidl?)
I've just used the CBL button for the Humax with code 0485 and taught the teletext button to be the media button. Seems to work so far. |

There are loads of spare genuine Humax remotes selling on eBay, just look at these:
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/biffsbashers/m.html I bought one a few weeks ago, and it's the real deal. No problems with it whatsoever. |

Thinking about getting the Logitech Harmony 300, does the have the "codes" for the Humax Foxsat HDR or do you have to teach it from the Humax remote?
Cheers, Mike |

Cheers, Mike .You don't have to input code numbers or anything like that, you tell the website what kit you have and it sets up the devices for you over the internet and the activities involved. Example a button on my Harmony says watch Foxsat-HDR Pushing it turns on the hdr, turns on the TV and selects the appropriate input for the hdr, turns on my AV amp selects the correct audio input for the hdr. The volume control is set to control the AV amp. A single button turns of every item that the remote knows about. |

I was advised by the site some months ago and bought a Harmony..
Brilliant for my 4 devices..One is over 10years old!! TV blew up on Sat last and has been taken to the WEEE Dump.. New Panasonic TV only released in UK Last Month.. arrives next Tuesday and yet.. i have just been on line and the Harmony Remote is now programmed ready for the TV.. These Lads know what they are talking about..Have a Leap of Faith Mike.. AND By the way ..to all the Forum members who have been so helpful over the last year or so.. The TV records to a USB Hard Drive and does repeat TV whilst watching etc.. I cannot wait for the mains to fail whilst it is in Full Flow Recording Mode..and..It is bound to be just my luck for the Mains to Fail again when i have just set up a Recording.. I wonder what will happen then ![]() Can't sleep at nights ..First time since the WW2Blitz in the 1940s..Anyway i have a Manly excuse.. The Wallpaper's already off the wall..however.. Home Base have 400 wallpapers for Janet to choose from on line so I am exhausted clicking 'Expand'.. Stan |
