Scott Maslen. I would say Steve John Shepherd but I've seen him in other things and he's a good actor, so EE must be doing something wrong with him. Makes me wonder what potential some of other actors in EE would have if they were given the chance to be better.

Does anyone remember Steve John Shepherd being touted as something like the next big thing when he was in This Life years ago?

Shane Ritchie for me. Was sorry to see him return. His 'acting' consists of looking down and holding his lapels, like he is trying to remember his lines - perhaps they are written on them?

Have to agree about Scott Maslen but the actor who plays Max is one of my favourites.

Presently we do have a wealth of good female actors though.

I'm astounded anybody could go for Shane Richie. He's been nothing short of fantastic this year.

I think people choose SHane Ritchie is because he's playing Shane Ritchie the bad gameshow host. But that's the character however irritating he is.

I think Scott Maslen will surprise us all in the climax to the Baby Swap story, I think we'll see another side to him as an actor. Shane Richie can act too, those scenes on Normandy beach and the recent plot has proved that.

Personally I think the worst actor always was Tiana Benjamin (Chelsea) but since her departure, I think it has to go to John Partridge - he makes me cringe! I actually think Marc Elliott is rather good!

Totally agree! He's not the best but he's a mile away from being the worst, his scenes during the baby swap drama proved what a really good actor he is

The lass who plays Whitney is a terrible actress.

I can understand why Jake is getting a few votes. He does seem to have one fixed style of delivery. I think he's over-rated.

The word actor is non-gender specific, some actresses prefer to be called actors finding the word actress sexist.

Someone beat me to saying Jake Wood (just for the reaction of his stans) but if this was most overrated actor it'd be him by far.

He is one of my least favourite actors on the show though, so him, his whining daughters and Heather Trott.

EDIT: Just noticed the actress thread before anyone shouts at me.

Steve McFadden (Phil) and Charlie Brooker (Janine); weird acting imo. They act everything the same.

Indeed. Many may not like the character, but how anyone can watch scenes like him coming out to his mum on his wedding day and say he can't act baffles me.

I actually think EE's acting quality is high, but Scott bless him has some serious issues in the dramatic moments. The guy who plays Ryan does nothing for me either, creates no feeling for his character (though granted, the writing doesn't help him!). No one's terrible though.

That's just Alfie, though, always been the same.

i must be the only one who thinks steve john shephard is good. thought he played the reaction to michael finding out about tommy good and then pretending not to care. didnt like him the first time round

i also dont think its fair to judge him so soon. he's only been in a handful of episodes

+ Michael Moon and Scott Malsden.

I do like Jack for some reason, he falls into the 'likeable but crap' catagory with Alfie.

Vanessa makes me laugh with her ham.
Shocked Max got a mention or two.

Glynis Barber or Marc Elliott for me. Neil McDermott, Steve John Shepherd and Rita Simons are crap as well. I don't like John Partridge either, and Scott Maslen isn't particularly good. Cheryl Fergison is crap too but I like the character.

Agreed that's Syed isn't it . The guy who plays Darren's not great either but the one who plays Syed is very poor.

Actor can refer to male or female, whilst actress refers only to a female - its all in the english dictionary look it up.
