Bunny experts?
Rubus

Just wanted some reassurance that it's ok to feed my 2 house bunnies nuts as a treat.

We've given them peanuts (just from the shell, not roasted or salted or anything) before, but one of our friends said it is harmful.

I know there's some bunny experts on here so I would appreciate some opinion.

Thank you guys.

peanuts are very oily, so i would worry they would put weight on your rabbits

i've never heard of giving peanuts to rabbits at all.

i'm not sure their digestion is suited to deal with them at all, either

if it were me, i would avoid them, and give treats such as fresh fruit and vegetables instead

There's a nice list here, of safe foods.

As xdow says even if something is not on the 'dangerous' list it doesn't mean it is 'good' for the buns! So many things they can not only eat but benefit from, might as well stick with those.

They only got about 1 nut each per week or so. I wasn't feeding them handfuls of them!

Thank you for your answers.

Peanuts aren't good for them as others have said, also stay away from high sugar content fruits (especially raisins) as rabbits are prone to diabities and the sugars in them can be harmful.
