janet is a great artist. such a shame she was not as big in the uk as she was in the us.

my favourite album is rhythm nation 1814, miss you much should have done so much better. less all of the singles on that album to be fair!

had a Janet fest recently.

I do have to be honest and say i prefer her to her more famous brother (while Off The Wall and Dangerous are of the best albums of all time IMO)

I love how versatile she was in the late 80s and across the 90s, she sustained such a creativity i am sad she has not used for recent albums!

Janet. I have blasted the most and damn that must be of THE best albums ever! so smooth and off the wall too! definitely of an era. Rhythm Nation also was of an era too. The videos also.

I think recently she has become very overlooked, would love for her to return with bigger material. I wained off her latest stuff. But i do think she has enough in her to recreate herself musically! i mean she is in he mid-40s she has a fair amount of time!

THROB!

it is funny you should mention age. when feedback came out, steve jones said on t4 she was too old to be doing that kind of record! i thought that was harsh, considering he likes mature women eg pamela anderson!

yes i was a bit shocked! like i said a bit out of character for steve as well. he usually likes mature women!

feedback is great. i was pretty shocked at her chart position. i guess she doesn't promote her music enough in the uk.

the only time she promoted of the last decade was on X Factor where Dermot O Leary shunned her after Make Me/All For You medley....no thanks or anything!

Feedback was one of the first singles to be released without a physical CD. I think thats why i suffered in the charts. I don't know though, i might just be scraping the barrel for excuses

I do remember seeing a nice 12" picture disc though. I was £5.99 so i didn't buy it!

When will Janet be recordinv new material do we think?? i read that she didnt want to before he tour (which by the sounds o it is very soon)

Do we think after she has performed that we may see her in the studio to get inspired i really hope she has a full on grasp of the material, i mean the R&B/Hip Hop scene right now is pretty embarrassing for mainstream artists, the exceptions are the underdog musicians in the genre to be honest!

And i know Janet was never STRICT R&B and more Pop but still when she did it....she did it fantastically

i`m not sure about new material. it would be nice to think she will. i thought the point of the tour was to promote the no1`s album?

i read somewhere she is desperate to settle down?
Josh Pinder

ah i see, well that is fair enough, i dont own a compilation, but looking at the tracklist she has had such variation across her career, even some not on her albums i was like WOAH forgot that ws her (blushes)

May seek it out this summer thought the single released at the time pu me off a bit, Make Me is ok but a bit...meh! when she performed on the X Factor you only had a minute snippet of the song and the rest was the superior All For You

If she does settle down i full would understand i mean she did define an era from Control onwards really, in fact she sustained a lot of momentum and battled some of her inner demons on her records which is something pretty off-the-scale!

lets wait and see

I remember reading on this site a few months ago that she planned to go into the studio soon I thought

I agree with your views regarding modern R+B - its very generic atm, artists like Usher just aren't cutting it for me atm
Josh Pinder

usher Ne-Yo, Bieber, all the same, hate to say it but Chris Brown has gotten more interesting haha.....i like Beautiful People....but i like Benny Benassi! so bias

But even if it is a dance record....it IS Janet! she can make it work

Yeah, a shame tickets aren't cheaper but she can't fill a stadium anymore, she's had to downsize to smaller venues under the "more imtimate" spin....but hell I had get my ticket, I've loved her for 25 years now since "When I Think Of You" and after getting Control for my 12th birthday in 1986 I was well and truly hooked. 1995 janet. tour was awesome as was the 98 Velvet Rope tour - had a great view for that one. Had my tickets for All For You tour but 9/11 happened and she cancelled

Yeah, I'm trying to imagine how it'll work - I saw Victoria Wood and Tori Amos there - but all they had was a microphone and piano (both of them!).
