Humax Foxsat Hdr Portal?

As all the discussion on the other thread is about the portal for the Fox T2 the I thought it a good idea to create a new thread.
Anyway any idea when the big update will be coming for the Foxsat HDR?

Wouldn't you be better posting in the Satellite forum?

IMHO It is highly unlikely.
I think Bob-cat (Humax person) has said as much in the past.
I think he said the CPU is just not up to it.

Correct. Not just the CPU but the platform wouldn't be optimal. Plus it would contradict some things with freesat.

Thanks Bob Cat-is there likely to be a software update to rectify the few problems people have been reporting?

The HDR is a great machine, but I do feel that Freesat have hampered it somewhat. I hope you guys are figuring this into the agreements that you're making with YouView. If boxes without the official stamp can do more than those with it then they've shot themselves (and you) in the foot.

Things like encrypting recordings of unencrypted broadcasts and not allowing users to have an EPG shoeing favourites are specific examples I would site. Also I suspect the reason you have not implemented FTP/samba network functions is to avoid violating the copy once rules of Freesat.

Yes Humax make a fantastic box that's without a doubt..

Think we all understand how far they can go, and its fantastic there are people working on Xtra's (ftp & samba)

If they ported over the humax portal to the foxsat this would limit the number of extra's that we modify - so to be honest its a good thing we never got this update

there is no other product on the market that I can compare too since I made " Improvements "

Very true ... if you add the phrase "at this price", quite a few options if you're willing to go £500-£1000. Its a winner product now and no mistake.

... just imagine what you could achieve if they pubished an API for the frontend GUI - I used to have the Topfield 5800, they did exactly that and even though the box had no power in comparison it was still possible to replace the EPG completely, set remote timers over the web ... even play suduko in the corner of the screen whilst watching TV ... not too sure of the benefit of the last one !
