That's the only draw back BTW to converting yourself. If you don't mount it externally, then dropping in a 1TB into a box designed for 250 or 320, potentially works the PSu much harder than intended.”
I don't think it would work it
much harder. It should need little, if any, extra power.
Give all the problems with PVR PSU's one would
hope that Humax had the sense to build some headroom into theirs so that it is not operating at the edge of the envelope.
Edit: Having just checked the Western Digital site it seems that the Green 1TB drive uses
less power at 4.86W read/write compared to the Green 320GB drive at 7/5W read/write. Idle figures are 2.82W/4W respectively.
