Which version do you prefer.

Listened to both versions today and Biffy Clyro came out on top for me.

Many Of horror absolute classic in the making and Matt tries to ruin it.

Worst X factor single ever. The Biffy Clyro version is way better.

So which version do you prefer?

I'm not a Biffy Clyro fan, so I was surprised when I recognised the song on the final night.

I prefer Biffy's version!

Ones got a Scottish accent and the other doesn't... That's the only difference IMO..... Wasn't too keen on the song to begin with anyway... Both are a bit lack lustre and boring!

Bit late with this thread. The big debate was about 6 weeks ago
To be honest I used to love the song (both versions), but I am so bored of both I turn the radio over as soon as it comes on. It is depressing.

It's been talked about to death, so might aswell let Biffy Clyro have the last word....

Well I'm gonna buck the trend and say I prefer Matts version. The only difference between the songs is the vocals and I prefer Matts singing tone and the fact that he puts a little effort into his singing. The Biffy Version imo sounds rather monotonous in comparison even though the song is pretty decent.

This opinion however isn't based on a bias from hearing the Biffy Clyro version first as I heard them both straight after each other.

I've been a Biffy fan since before Blackened Sky came out and I can honestly say I don't really like either version that much

Of all the things you could accuse Simon Neil of, not putting effort in? "lolz"

I actually quite like both versions, and I say that as someone who hates X Factor. Matt does a decent job of it, but I'd say I still prefer the Biffy Clyro version - for a start its the original, and secondly I like the guitars in it which are missing in the cover.

Many of Horror, my least favourite song on Only Revolutions, bores the hell out of me, gets skipped everytime I play that album, actually makes me want to turn the radio off, especially when Absolute played it to death in early 2010. Can't stand the song.

Still 100 times better than Cardle's version though.

You got that right! He SO deserved to win - I mean, he used to be in a band, and he even plays the guitar!

Yeah! And he's so down to earth! I mean, have you seen the hat he *occasionally* wears? It's all tatty and rough looking, just like mine (!)

AND he's been in the industry for over (1)15 years with little result. That definitely means he deserves to be famous.

I love how by using a BC song as the single Cardle is trying to be a more credible artist..

Contraversial opinon here, but Biffy havent been credible since around 2006

Matt took that awful decision to leave his band(s) and go on X Factor. If he just stayed a little longer, XFM listeners would be hearing "that new Seven Summers song" by now.

Heard Matt's version on the radio today. It gets especially bad at the end of the song where he turns it into a full blown boy band ballad with his key change and warbling. YUCK!

Not a fan of Biffy Clyro but there are very few covers that match up to, never mind surpass, the original and this is far from one of them. It's a ridiculous cover by a guy who seems to think shouting amounts to power and range, who those on the show with an ulterior motive led him to believe this even more and whose menopausal fans of his undercrackers fell for the scam and now can't understand why most people don't get this supposedly amazing voice.

Matt took that awful decision to leave his band(s) and go on X Factor. If he just stayed a little longer, XFM listeners would be hearing "that new Seven Summers song" by now.
Of course they would I mean he and his band/s didn't enter numerous talent shows, supposedly more credible talent shows than X Factor but talent shows nevertheless, before he took his decision.

Auditioning for X Factor was the last desperate hurrah of a very average man who thought he was better than those around him.
