I would love to see Norman "Curly" Watts back.

Why? Curly was a good character with Raquel, Jack and Vera, Reg, Emma etc but that was it. But Kevin Kennedy couldn't handle major storylines and was atrocious most of the time. I think even Jenny McAlpine'd act him off stage!

No, characters like Curly belong in a different era. Who would he be friends with other than Kevin? What storyline would you let him have?

No. His time has passed. What would be the point?

I would have him, Eddie Yates and Stan Ogden back.
Corries needs some culture in it again.
Oh, and Don Brennan's leg.

Dont see why not, I mean, Dennis Tanner is coming back and he has been absent for 43 years, Curly's only been gone since September 2003 (unless you count the DVD Knight's Tale).

He is probably being brought back in order to provide more storylines for Ken, Emily and Rita (the only characters who would remember him)

You could say that about ANY character who leaves for many years then returns though, think Bianca and Carol in EEs.

With good writing ANY old character can be successful resurrected.

At least Bianca and Carol had relatives still in the square.

Curly has no real connection to the Street.

Bloody hell. You've made me defend Eastenders. Curse you!

Bianca and Carol had no history onscreen with The Brannings though other than Jim so that was just luck of the draw as to whether they would mesh well.

Oh and there is still LOADS on Coronation Street who would know Curly.

Sally, Gail, Audrey, Rita, Norris, Steve........ I could go on.

Bianca was related to Pat. Albeit by marraige. And 'no on-screen history' or not, Carol is still related to the Brannings.

Back on topic Curly COULD have a successful return to the street.

There's no need for Curley to come back as there is already a Curley in the Street "Curley Simon Barlow!"

And he will not be upstaged by the out-of-date ex-store manager!

Nor does Tommy and he's coming back with no family to speak off, so what's your point?

Wasn't he the blond bespectacled real-life alchy? No thanks, even if it would give Emily more to do.

NOOO! There's a risk that if Curly came back so would his job.

No more Freshco and its infernal middle management storylines!

I disagree with his return also. Pointless.
