There are two financial questions that need to be answered:-

1) Tracy has had her conviction overturned; leading upto her original trial, Tracy engaged a specialist lawyer for whom she was denied legal aid. Ken & Deidre released the equity in their home to pay for it, tens of thousands, which they lost when she was sent down. As she has now been declared not guilty, they should get all their money back.

2) As Tracy has served over 3 years in prison, she also would be entitled to tens of thousands in compensation for her wrongful conviction.

Will either of these things be mentioned???

Also during the original trial didn't Tracy confess to Deirdre that she murdered Charlie in cold blood. So how come now as far as the Barlows are concerned Tracy only did it in self defence?

Yes Deirdre certainly does seem to have a selective memory. When tracey confessed, Deirdre couldn't even look at her.

What is getting my goat , an appeal takes more than an hour or two to get through , she would not have been found innocent just the verdict was unsafe , I would expect a new trial would be called for

As she was convicted of murder anyway surely they would have never released her in the first place but instead placed her on remand until the retrial? that's the usual pratice. She is still on the murder charge. No one at Corrie seems to have researched this.

Deirdre's always been blind when it comes to Tracy,, even when she's witnessed Tracy being horrible to the neighbours, she joins in going against them..and then says 'come on, lets go home Tracyluv'

Yes, people on soap DISCUSSION forums tend to look way too far into things.

She couldn't even testify for her in court either could she? I seem to recall her breaking down on the stand or something! Yet now she just stands there while Tracy tells everyone it was a miscarriage of justice? No 'calm down Tracy I remember what you told me'? Pathetic.

What is getting my goat , an appeal takes more than an hour or two to get through , she would not have been found innocent just the verdict was unsafe , I would expect a new trial would be called for
Exactly!!!! It would be declared a mistrial, not that she's innocent.

You would have thought so wouldn't you? But for some reason Corrie seemed determined to bring her back, even at the cost of any realism whatsoever.

Corrie have really angered me with with storyline I never expect my soaps to be totally realistic but at the same time I don't expect them to insult my intelligence either which they have done every single step of the way in their desperation to get this (IMO awful!) character back. I said at the time that it was stupid making her a murderer because there would be no come back for the character but, hey!, what did I know, they just write what the hell they like

I like CAPITAL letters

On topic: But does anyone else really want to see MORE court scenes on Corrie?

it's a ridiculous conclusion seeing as she's not extending her contract anyway

this has been dealt with very poorly by the writers IMO

Real life issues can be bent to suit themselves in a soap though
