Much as I like the original, Grum's remix of Rocket by Goldfrapp amps the synth-pop up to 11: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTv9yEoMs9A

There's also his track Through the Night, which is a really nice synthy-poppy house record: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dUbtrTU-1U

Then there's Kylie's All the Lovers as remixed by Fear of Tigers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lnk55NUigQw

More Fear of Tigers awesomeness:

Rosanna - Waterfall (Fear of Tigers Remix): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV3rKIdOoM8
The Sound of Arrows - Into the Clouds (Fear of Tigers Remix): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRaoXliSu1M
Fear of Tigers - Cossus Snufsigalonica: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZpCQ8QKF74

A few more assorted tracks:

Futurecop! - Starworshipper [vocal version]: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfPZdDXZI78
Mark Ronson - Bang Bang Bang (U-Tern's Disco Dub) [there's a remix with a little bit more of a vocal but a full vocal version would've been even better]: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3sZRPuGPRM
Monarchy - Love Get Out of My Way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6CfPlPHtaU

Excerpt from:My Secret Garden
Get The Balance Right
The Great Outdoors

B-sides equally as good (if not better) than the A-sides

A few old faves :-

Elektric Music - TV
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3tB_4nWRfM

Karl Bartos - 15 Minutes of Fame
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuFLBQaY1go

The Bartos track should have been an anti-Wannabee/Celebrity anthem.

This thread has reminded me about a £1 CD I once picked up in a second-hand shop by some group called The Faraway Tree, called 'Make Believe Land'. They are seemingly so obscure that all my internet searches have come to naught.

With a copyright of 1994, the album is pretty much electropop-based save for some guitars. It consists of 10 tracks, including two mixes of what was presumably the group's signature tune 'City Lights', which is certainly the most keyboardingly storming song on the album. Elsewhere, theres a mix of decent electro tunes in the same general up-tempo vein - including the best track, the bona fide epic 'Memories' - plus some rather more lacklustre slower tracks that do very little for me.

Overall it's a very pleasing little curio which earns itself a decent place on the CD rack amongst my 'mainstream' albums of the genre; this particular copy also has an inlay signed by lead singer Becky (rather ironically dedicated 'to my number one fan' - who presumably wasn't any more at the point of flogging it to a second-hand shop). If by the remote chance anyone to do with the band happen to be reading this, I'd just like to say thanks for the effort and wonder whatever became of you, or if you released anything else...

Guess I should pimp VNV Nation as Ronan Harris invented the term futurepop:

Legion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwZzPc-MBFg

Anyone listen to Code 64 or Syrian?

Code 64 - Leaving Earth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAt3bbuxAlw

Syrian - Supernova: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkCqc3NApc4

Along with Colony 5, Frozen Plasma and Cybercide, some of the best current futurepop bands going.

We might be staring a futurepop night later in the year.
