New Hawaii Five O (Sky One)
Just watched this, and I thought it was a fairly competant start. Certainly a better Pilot than the mess NCIS:LA was.
Anyone else watching it ? With Robert Orci and Alex Kurzman on the production crew, it has a fair crack at the whip, as these are some of JJ Abram's top biatches

I've, erm, already seen it up to episode 15
, and I bloody love it.It's a good, fun, cop show. It can be a bit silly, and I think a lot of McGarrett's evidence would be inadmissible in a more serious police procedural, but... it's just bloody good fun. Good cast, characters, action, etc., and stunning locations. The chemistry between Steve & Danno really works well. |

Seemed like they spent a large proportion of the budget on the pre titles scene.
Looked like a dumb, fun, slick, US TV cop show. Not really my thing though. |

Enjoyed it, will watch again. Pity the Sky continuity monkey talked all over the iconic theme music at the end though.

Watched both episodes and it was thoroughly enjoyable, great locations, theme tune and solid character actors doing what they do best - Act!
Humour, action and an underlaying storyline..... Easy watching for sunday nights.. 8/10 |

Very violent. If it was real their handguns would not even compete with the automatic weapons. Having McGarrett and Williams the same age and Kono a girl is a novel twist and the chemistry works. It pinching a lot of material from the current series of Human Target.. The original was very violent but in a realistic way until they were ordered to tone it down and instead of shooting the villains at the end "Book 'em Danno" developed, This series has to leave one villain alive so they can use the phrase. It will not last 12 years. Another thing when the camera was going over the sea to the land for an establishing shot (2/3 times in the first two episodes) it reminded me of Tracey Island and I was waiting for Thunderbird 1 to take off.

Loved it. And I hear it is doing well in the States so that is a good sign.

Really enjoyed this last night, much better than I was expecting.
Nice bit of scheduling from Sky1 putting this and NCIS:LA together, both are the same sort of show and both a big hits in the US so they won’t be going anywhere for a while which is nice to know. |

I really enjoyed both episodes
I was on Oahu last November and a lot of the first episode seemed to have been filmed in and around Makaha where I stayed. The very first shot of the bunker made me squeal because I went inside there to check out all the memorabilia from films/tv shows that have used that same bunker/scenery.I also recognised a lot of the beach shots and one particular 'sinkhole' where I sat enjoying the sun & watching the surfer boys
![]() Here's the bunker:http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...elaine/054.jpg The walls are adorned with photos from various movies which have filmed nearby: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...elaine/055.jpg Here's the valley at Kualoa Ranch which featured in the opening helicopter battle scene:http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...elaine/060.jpg |

Wonder which terrestrial channel will pick this up as we don't have Sky.
