I think Hawaii 5-0 has had some of the best casting for series 2 I have seen of any show this fall.

Series 2 is shaping up to be excellent

I could do without the love interest bit, to be honest - especially if it pans out as I think it might - it's kind of been done before in other shows, and there's so much great chemistry in the show, that there's no need for too much romance, imo.
The info about the new cast members is a little bit spoilerish, to be honest, so I hope Sky don't wait too long to show season 2, because the more info that comes out about casting, etc., the more hints about the plot there are.
(I'm not having a go at anyone, by the way - it's inevitable that reports about who has signed up for which role will come out in the months leading up to the next airdate!)

Richard T Jones as the new Governor.
That's quite a step up from being a courtroom assistant in Judging Amy! Confess that I don't know any of his other work as that's the only other show I know I've seen him in.

Maybe there should there be a Season 2 thread for those who don't want to be spoiled with all the new casting.

I'll definitely be watching Season 2 at US pace. Can't wait

It looks like the series will be repeated on -

Sunday 24th July 19:00 - 01:00 - Episodes 1-6
Sunday 31st July 19:00 - 01:00 - Episodes 7-12

Listings aren't available yet for the following Sundays, however I would imagine it's likely the above pattern will continue, meaning the following -

Sunday 7th August 19:00 - 01:00 - Episodes 13-18
Sunday 14th August 19:00 - 01:00 - Episodes 19-24
Thanks very much for the info.
At least I have some time to clear some space on the sky box!

For those who may be interested, here's footage of the Hawaiian blessing for Season 2 which took place this week. The cast and crew are all there. Alex and Scott show up at about 4:00 minutes in.

The only actor I recognise is Terry O'Quinn who is a superb actor & IMHO a very underrated one, it'll be good to see him in the series.

Having said that,I looked up his career and realised that there are several other shows I've seen him in,but Amy is the main one that I remember him as one of the main cast.

I waited until SKY showed it.I watched Supernatural at US pace on FassPassTV but that web site was shut down.

Before I went on holiday in mid-June I watched the last four episodes of Hawaii 5-0 online.I went to Sidereel's web site then found a link that worked.I'll try that site when the second season starts.

Hi Aliu2maniac
Thank you for the information I might just try that when the 2 season starts if sky ends up showing it later than the USA.

I didn't really have that many high hopes for this reboot - but it hit the ground running and was enjoyable throughout - can't even think of an epidode where I thought "well that wasn't that good" because there weren't any bad episodes.
I agree, this and Nikita were the good surprises of the TV season. Just seen the finale and bloody hell! Looking forward to Season 2.

Episode 3 has been replaced by Episode 22.If I'm assuming correctly, Sky have replaced Episode 3 because it had a shooting at a football game at the beginning. If the episode in question was replaced because of sensitivity to events in Norway then why replace it with an episode where a character dies in an explosion.......if that's what Sky have done, of course. If not, It seems odd to have Episode 2 followed by Episode 22

I'm recording the episodes, so I didn't know they'd replaced one, but if it's the one with the shooting at the game, then that's probably the reason, and it's perfectly understandable, but, as you say, replacing it with one that features an explosion might be seen as questionable - I have to say, too, that I don't recall Sky being that sensitive to things like this normally.

I loved every minute of Hawaii 5-0. At first I thought it was going to be just a flash-in-the-pan kind of show, but as the episodes progressed it got better. I watched the last one tonight. I loved it that 5-0 was set-up as a special task force to investigate the deaths of Steve's parents and track down Wo Fat, whilst investigating other crimes at the same time. Loved the actors and their characters. The show was a surprise hit IMO. Great cliffhanger. Can't wait for the second series, how long have we got to wait for that???? Hope we haven't got to wait till next year.

While an October air date is better than February (like we got for season one), I still think they could air it earlier. Sky Atlantic show "Entourage" one day after the US (according to the adverts), Sky One should do that with Five-0.

The first series was delayed because of Sky buying Living or FX or whatever channel was first listed to buy Hawaii- 5-O I think.

Originally it was listed to be shown earlier then there was the buy out and the schedules were changed- I guess Sky had something else it was showing at that time.

Now Sky has shown the 1st series there is no reason they won't show the second in October- and the reason they will start it late is so that the series is shown without a huge mid-season break- they will have that in America in November for the sweeps- every series has a break then.

It’s not quite as simple as that. Entourage is a HBO show that airs on consecutive weeks for the duration of the season, so Sky can start airing it a matter of days latter and remain a matter of days behind right until the finale.
Hawaii Five-0 is a network show (CBS) so the 22(ish) episodes will air over approximately 36 weeks so there will be weeks when no new episodes are aired. Sky won’t do that as that scheduling isn’t accepted by the majority of viewers in the UK.

I suspect Sky will do with season two as they do with NCIS:LA – start a few weeks behind the US so that by the time we get the Christmas (when programmes usually take their biggest break in the US) we are just about caught up with US pace. Then Sky will take a break of 2 or so months and (once the US are again ahead by a few episodes) start the second half of the season so by the time we reach the finale we are again just about at US pace.
