Of course Hawaii is a place that is already visited by British people, by I wonder if this remake airing in prime hours on British TV will spark an increase in British tourism to Hawaii. The show is like an advertisement for Hawaiian tourism, really -- assuming you don't count all the villains the show's heroes spend their time trying to thwart.

Just watched the first one and really enjoyed it. Very "high octane" I guess, so it'll be interesting to see if that's the pace they want to maintain.

as has been said, good chemistry between steve and danno as well and it was nice to see 'that' line at the end as well

definitely sticking with this one - although my list of programs will be creaking even more with the likes of house coming back and ncis, stargate and eureka soon as well .. *groan*

Loved it, although I could have done without the continuity woman talking all over the theme tune!

Wonder which terrestrial channel will pick this up as we don't have Sky.

Never watched NCIS LA beyond the first episode... thought it was quite bad compared to the original NCIS. Certainly going to watch HF0 again though
It does get better, but falls short of NCIS as the daddy, or JAG as the Grand-daddy.

I don't think it ever fully recovered from Louise Lombard leading the Pilot, to being junked for the production series run.

Feels like a Five show, though maybe ITV 2 material too, as they need some material as about the only original show they haven't lost (yet)to another channel is Gossip Girl.

unneccesarily very violent.
Yeah, 'cos in 2010 as in 1968, special state task forces, deter and arrest the bad guys using water balloons, spud guns and ninja style rope burns.

quite liked the bit when they were dangling the bloke head first over the side of the building , cant remember the exact words but something along the lines of fearing for his life seem to stick

I liked what i saw, very action packed and doesn't take itself seriously at all. Definitely tuning in next week

And to the poster who said it was "unneccesarily violent"...it really wasn't. You didn't really see anything gory or anything, and the shootouts were so OTT that it was impossible to take it seriously (in a good way!). I loved seeing the main cop hanging the suspect over the side of the building, lol.

9/10 What my HD TV was made for!

It really did look quite stunning in HD didn't it! Probably the best picture quality i've seen on Sky1HD for months.

It is unlikely to go to terrestial television as it is too violent unless they cut it. They had their chance before Bravo snapped it up and they could not afford big money. Has Spartacus come to terrestial. Not yet and they could have outbid before Bravo.

There are definately many British visitors here in Hawaii, also there are students as well going to the various universities. I work with a woman who is from London and came here 30 years ago (although she married an American). Many tag on a Hawaii leg to their US mainland trips, or use Hawaii as a stopover on their round the world ventures.

and yes, I ask each and every one of them if they know the Queen.

Quite enjoyed it. Much better than NCIS LA which I switched off as it's pants compared to NCIS.

Some shows with bright fab scenery look the dogs.

CSi Miami
Dexter
HFO
Planet Earth etc....

Some SciFi shows can look a bit dreary, depending on how good your telly is on how black your blacks are. That's a contrast statement, before the Phobia police are called out on Red Alert

Are you kidding?! Yeah it was a bit violent but no more so that the likes of 24 and Prison Break, both of which have been on primetime terrestrial television.

If one of the terrestrial channels was going to pick it up I’d say it would definitely be Five, but I suspect Sky might have the full rights and are going to keep it exclusive. I think they’ve done the same with NCIS:LA as given the success NCIS is on Five I’d be surprised if they wouldn’t want to air the LA version given the chance.

By the way, for those of you with Sky+ Anytime the first two episodes are now available on demand in HD on you Sky+ box.

You get to see a lot of her. Especially when she is wearing the bikini.
I think thats the best reason to watch

I hope that Tricia Helfer will turn up at some point in a red bikini

Watched both episodes and think it is great.
