I didn't know Steve won't appear in the NCIS:LA cross over episode, thats a real shame as he and LL Cool Js character (Sam) could have had a good background story both being former navy seals.

So does anyone know who will be crossing over? Will Danny be the only one appearing in NCIS:LA? And will Sam and G both appear in Hawaii Five-O?

I would have liked to have seen Steve and Danny in NCIS:LA, but it'll still be cool seeing Danny and Chin go to LA.

Seeing Sam and G in Hawaii Five-O will be really cool too.

I’ve just looked it up.. Sam and G are in Hawaii Five-O but Danny and Chin lead that episode, no Steve. And Danny and Chin are in NCIS: LA. Both episodes air on Sky1 on 20th May, and luckily the story starts in Hawaii Five-O and concludes in NCIS: LA so Sky1 will show them in the correct order.

I don't know, I love Alex O'Loughlin, I think he's a beautiful man but there's just something off about him at the moment. I don't even know how to explain it, but this series and still in his photos he looks like he's had all of his joy sucked out of him.

It could be explained by being in pain, I suppose, but he just doesn't look happy.

But I hope it's just my perception and that's he's feeling fit and well.

Maybe because he was in pain for a long time he just needs some rest and get that shoulder sorted out. I know what you are saying he dose look a bit off but he is looking a lot healthy now which is good.

I've felt, certainly in the most recent two episodes, that Alex has looked haggard and unwell, but also that Scott looks a little older, too - maybe the filming schedule is quite hectic, and if Alex has had other problems then perhaps it was just beginning to show on screen.
I think they both look quite well and relaxed in the pic of them that AliU2maniac posted, though, happily...and despite not looking quite right, I got the sense that Alex was enjoying filming this week's episode.

Kono, on the other hand is looking better than ever this series, isn't she? She's really stunning.

Didn't have a clue Danno's Dad [5'9"] was going to be in it.....he still has an eye, for the Ladies too.

The exploding 'shock' Jock case, was boring...

I'm guessing this one was around the time that Alex took time out?
It felt a bit choppy as in one minute Steve was there and the next he wasn't, and there was a feeling that the story had been reworked a bit.
Not a bad story though and the ending was clever - a good homage to the original there.

Yes and no they could be taking advantage of steve sister being in trouble, which would mean steve could not be involved to much with it. Letting Alex have more time off. this was ep 19 so the next 2 ep Alex is not in them but he is back for ep 22 and 23 which are the last 2.

This ep was good I loved it

I loved the beginning on the Beach with them being surfing buddies and danny copying steve and then back at the house with mary very funny.
Steve birthday and the gang trying to keep it a secret. the cake in the trunk of the camaro in the shape of a gun and finding out that butter-cream was his favourite.Then the second cake in the shape of Grenade which they put salt in,
August March grow on me from being frail old man to a killer in the end a surprise ending
I am still suspicious of captain Fryer I still thing he is dirty somehow.
I loved Danny in this ep how he took charged when steve was not there, and what happed at the prison with Fryer as well with that dirty cop.

I loved the way they played with this character, using clips from his appearance in the original series, and even using that appearance as a vague back story for the new series. I loved when August asked Steve if he is a relation of the Steve McGarrett that arrested him. They cleverly played with it clearly referring to the Jack Lord McGarrett from the viewers point of view, but being Steve's father in the continuity of the new series.

I'm glad some posters have cleared up why Alex looks so thin. I was thinking last night, what happened, he was so buff in the cage fighter episode earlier this season, and now looks quite thin. I didn't know he has an injury.

I really enjoyed this one.It was nice to see Ed Asner on TV again & August March was a really interesting character, a wily old man who really shouldn't have been trusted around diamonds! Kono had a nice scene where she wasn't fooled by March's charm one bit and got the diamond back he'd just tested

Danny & Steve are surf buddies I LOL when Danny planted his surf board in the sand, let it fall then dragged it along the beach when they left with Mary.Definitely not proper surfing etiquette

Alex entered rehab after this episode but he's now healthy and back to looking his old SuperSeal self.

Great to see Ed [82] as well...and the twist at the end....the old dog, and he had eye's for Kono too....Mary Tyler Moore anyone.....he has been in a lot of stuff.

Not a bad case too this week, with Sister Mary and the....Cake.

Interesting way to write McG out for a while. However, I wonder what the original plan for the story-line was? (ie the one they had to re-write when he went into rehab.) Unless they knew he was going in? I don't know as I don't read spoilers on the net

The 'Dear Danno' letter was an interesting way to have Steve absent for awhile and Danny's worry was nicely played.

Max's back story was not something I expected and enjoyed the pace of the episode.

The last scene with Steve ignoring Danny's call---oh, the angst Love it

I liked tonight's ep - missed Steve but I like when Danno and Chin team up. It was interesting to learn some more about Max, and the missing Shrimp truck brought a bit of light relief.
Does anyone know why Kono is not featuring much in some episodes - I can't figure out if she's just being underused, or if she is taking time out when some of the shows are being filmed?

Overall I have to say I'm enjoying the 2nd half of the season more than the first - looking forward to the crossover next week, too.
