Difference being that people do actually use "Google" as a verb in real life.

Nothing wrong with Hawaiian Airlines
I've flown with them twice & it's the best & cheapest way to fly to Hawaii. It was for me anyway
![]() Any show set in such a popular location will use advertising to sell itself as well as prominent locations/features.Hawaii 5-0 is proud to film in Hawaii & tourism is up because of the show and very affordable, to Americans at least, so why not promote the businesses that associate with it? With ad skipping DVR's widely available TV execs have to find ways of keeping advertisers interested.I'd rather have a few moments of product placement in Hawaii 5-0 instead of no Hawaii 5-0 at all. |

![]() Either way I really couldn't care less and didn't even spot this thing under discussion. Too busy enjoying the show rather than analysing it

LOL, definitely product placement, as the only place you'll find people saying "Bing it" is TV (plus of course each episode is filled with various other instances of MS product placement, some background and some forced).

Yup, 100% product placement. Second worst was the use of the tablet device and the Windows Messenger video thing. They were showing each other evidence over it. Bit daft really.
I don't mind the Chevrolet and Hawaiian Airlines ones (got to pay the bills and all that)(, but its the shoe horning in over placement into the dialogue and scenes that take you momentarily out of it. Its not just 5-0 though, there's some OTT placement of the Windows logo in Arrow. Instead of it being in its normal place on the back of a monitor in the centre, its been moved to the top so it can be seen every time they sit at the screen. Flipside, Sky 1's Trollied had the 'P' logo before each episode this series and I still have no clue what they were actually advertising. |

Exactly.
Like I said before, background stuff is fine (although it can be silly... does *everyone* in Portland have a Mac and an iPhone, as Grimm wold seem to suggest? ) but it's annoying when it's forced into the actual dialogue - it makes it sound like the characters are performing in an advert.H50 isn't the only one - as mentioned W13 and I think White Collar both had some forced product placement for cars, e.g. "Hey check out the entertainment system and sat nav in MY NEW PRIUS, look at all these things it can do that are irrelevant to the story" etc. Fringe had some rather dodgy placement this season for some NFC payment system via a specific US mobile network. |

And yet I've never noticed any of it. I guess some of us just prefer to watch the show as a whole rather than worrying about PP

Never noticed it either,
And don't really have a problem with it TBH, wouldn't it make sense that a top of the line Police department such as 5-0 would have have all the latest equipment and gadgets, makes it more realistic in a way. |

It winds me up more when a generic brand is used! Why stop for a generic burger when you really want a McDonalds!

Alex O'loughlin and Girlfriend Malia Jone have named their baby Boy as Lion O'Loughlin I think it has a nice flow to it. The more I say the name it grows on me and I like it more.
Will he have a brother called Panthr O' Loughlin?? BTW I don't know if you are all aware of this but CBS Action (Sky 148) will be showing the original Hawaii Five-O from January 7th http://www.cbsaction.co.uk/shows.php...=Hawaii Five-O |

Not bad start, didn't wow me, but I guess its all part of a bigger arc, just like last season.

I loved this show in the first season, but I find myself only half watching it now - for me the Wo Fat story drags on and on and I've lost interest in it
![]() The scene where Wo Fat was being transported reminded me of something from Thunderbirds though, and I do love that H50 isn't scared to totally stretch the bounds or reality ![]() But on the whole, I feel the writers are running out of ideas. Others in my household love it, though, so it's probably just me. |

Another vote for a decent start. Nothing earth shattering I suppose, but I guess Wo Fat is to this series as Red John is to The Mentalist.
Still, it's a show I enjoy so I'll certainly stick with it. |

Not sure about the mother, you can tell there is going to be more to her than meets the eye. We thought of an obvious reason why she didn't shoot Wo Fat and why he didn't shoot her. Hope this doesn't turn out to be the big end of season reveal.
