Which is completely pointless info for us here in the UK as we have only just got Ep2 out of the way. Of course, with all these breaks, we should catch-up to the US before the end of the season

Loved this episode last night is was good
This season is way better it reminds me of season 1

Loved the boys banter on the boat before the fish and after. Steve just unable to relax at all while waiting for the catch, and the backseat fishing with danny. Steve in denial about his relationship with Cath and Danny calling him on it.
Steve and danny in the dinghy, loved the shark scene
We now know why Danny is afraid of the water and adding depth to his character.
Cath played the concerned non girlfriend very believeble and teaming up with chin and kono to find the boys.
Chin and Kono loved their converation in the car and chin wary of adam. Then Kono saving Chin

"Boat-Mance" last night, nice variation on the car scenes.
Agreed this was much better than anything in the last season, and this season has started very well all told.

"Why does everything have to be a Mission"

Great episode last night with the Boat Banter....case that dropped into their Boat was Funny too.

And Kono again, Kicking-ass....plus saving Chin.

But why is Masi Oka, Max, using a Stick....noticed it last week, has he been in a 'real' accident.

Didn't he got shot during last season? It was mentioned in last week's episode I believe....

As to whether the actor has a problem irl, I don't know..

Didn't he say that he was still recovering from being shot? He isn't in the best physical shape so he's probably slow to heal.

I am currently watching Hawaii Five O, with Jack Lord and James MacArthur, on CBS Action. I began to watch the opening episode of the remake when it was first aired on sky, but had to switch off after a few minutes. Perhaps I didn't give it a chance, but I have seen all of the original series' episodes and don't think, in my opinion, anyone would play the role of Steve McGarrett as competently as Jack Lord. The way in which the original was filmed just looks right; the advances in cameras et al, is too sophisticated for a series originally set in the late 60s. The new series looks 'wrong', too modern, if that makes sense. Also, to give each episode an Hawaiian title, gives it an unwarranted cosmopolitan feeling about the series. Possibly, had it not been a remake of such a classic series, and we had nothing to compare it to, I would have viewed it differently, but would still not have watched it, as it is not a genre I tend to devote viewing time to.

I used to love the original episodes too but cant agree that the current series is too modern as I love the way it is filmed, the camera work and use of funky gadgets in the scenes is brilliant.

The chemistry between McGarrett and Danno is just as good, if not better.

Masi Oka is an interesting guy.....

He speaks fluent Spanish (as well as Japanese and English), has an IQ of 180 and worked as a translator at the 1992 Olympics in all 3 languages.

He has Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for acting and also works for Industrial Light and Magic as a Research and Development Technical Director, writing programs that create special effects, including the Star Wars 1-3 films

He's also the Musical Director of an all male a capella singing group

So Max is a bit of a multi-tasker

Well another good ep this week

Interesting crime of the week that twisted and turned till the end
Doris is back and I don't know if I like her or hate her Christine Lahti plays her well. And what is the item that Doris took from under the floor boards looks very interesting, looks like some sort of film of something.
Sorry every time steve say's mum it sounds so funny dose not go with his super seal image
I love cath this season her reaction to steve trying to protect her in the bedroom was funny calling him a caveman and picks up a baseball bat and gose down stairs.
Loved Danny and Kono teaming up together at the psychic
Loved steve being bad cop with super seal's interrogation methods. Steve telly Danny you are such a girl when he sticks a needle in himself without a care in the world

I can't get over the fact that they called her Doris! Not that it's a bad name; just not really one you would associate with this sort of character.

Well, Doris is quite a common name for a woman of Mrs McGarrett's age.I expect if she'd been named something modern like 'Scarlett' then eyebrows would've been raised

I presumed that Mama McGarret was called. Doris in the original. I just feel she is a bit too glam to be Steve's mum, but I suppose that is one of the demands of US TV. If she was more homely it would give more depth to the character. I have no problem believing Doris could be a spy, but a wife and mother? Really it should be the other way round. So far I don't recall her even mentioning Steve's sister.

I'm giving this weeks ep a miss. I really dislike the 'Halloween specials', way too OTT for my tastes.

There were plenty of twists in tonight's episode and I wasn't sure how it was going to end.It was a bit gruesome in parts but that only added to the tension.

The scene at the end with Steve & Danny cuddling on the couch, sharing the popcorn, was adorable

Well, I hated tonight's episode and I usually enjoy this series. The only part I liked was the end scene.

As a Pagan, I am sick to death of the way Hollywood in particular continues to perpetuate the myth that Pagans/Wiccans are also devil-worshippers.

Satan/the Devil is a CHRISTIAN invention.

Pagans and Wiccans are Pagan/Wiccan.

They are ENTIRELY different religions!!!

To believe that Satan/The Devil exists you either have to be a Christian and see him as the antithesis of God/Jesus or be a Satanist and see God/Jesus as the antithesis of Satan/The devil.

It's lazy writing and also insulting to those of us who follow the Pagan belief. We do not worship Satan/The Devil. He doesn't exist in our religion!!! Arrggh

And, by the way, I have a lot of sympathy with Louise's post. For those of us who watched and loved the original series back in the 60s, this ISN'T Hawaii 5-0. It's a nice little series (USUALLY!), but instead of trying to 'remake' something (aren't there ANY original ideas in Hollywood?? Oh, right. No. Sorry, forget I asked) that was brilliant in and of itself, why not just make a new series, call it something else and simply set it in Hawaii? And let it stand or fall on its own merits instead of relying on the name of something so successful and well-loved.

As I say, I do usually enjoy this series (even with the above gripe), but last night's left me very, very angry.

Loved the Halloween Ep

This Episode was a lot better than season 2 Halloween Ep

The crime of the week was creepy. Sweet old granny turned out to be evil.

Loved all the sceens at Steve's house. Kamekona was funny dressed up as Steve. Danny interrupting date night not once but twice. Loved Grace's costume as a Bee
Love how they are making the relationship between steve and cath cute and fun and not mushy and soapy. the end with steve, danny, grace and cath on the couch was so funny loved it

As this season gose on the Episodes get better.

Well, actually, I have to disagree. This episode made no sense whatsoever. Quite apart from my previous issues with it (that Satanism is NOT Paganism/Wiccan and I wish Hollywood would get this through its thick head), it was a mess. I could write something better in my sleep. It's almost as if they have decided not to bother with the writing and instead depend solely on the actors' characterisation of who they portray. Which they do very well, but you need decent SCRIPTS as well.

I really wish they'd write something decent for these very proficient actors to have something to get their teeth into!
