I've heard rumours that Alex O' Loughlin might be leaving the show or reducing the amount of episodes.

Personally, I feel that the show could continue without him and there's more than enough competent characters to step up and fill in. Chin and Kono would have to become the main characters which would be good. Chin is the strongest actor and character in my opinion.

Do you think the show would survive without Steve or would that be the end for you?
Here is the real reason Alex is thinking about leaving the show. Alex negotiations for his contract was at the end of season 6 when his contract was up he will do 2 more seasons 7 and 8 if there is one the ratings are good so far.

Here is a part of a interview that Alex gave TVLINE IN September can not show the whole interview as it has spoilers for season 7 in

TVLINE | Looking back over these first 150 episodes, what’s been the most difficult scene for you to do physically?
I don’t know how to answer that question; I’m all f—ked up, man. I mean I’ve blown both shoulders, one knee. I’ve had my elbow tendon reattached. I’ve got bulging discs in my neck and my back. I don’t know where to start. I’m a mess, and a lot of it’s been really, really hard. I think back to when I was doing most of my own stunts in the first few years — that was not a great idea. But the physical exhaustion of working with injury and working huge hours day after day, year after year…. The whole show has been extremely physically daunting. That’s one of the things I’m trying to figure out at the moment now; I don’t know how much longer I can do it.

TVLINE | You recently hinted at your intention to exit Hawaii Five-0 after any potential Season 8. (Season 7 is currently up in the ratings vs. last year.) Is that still your plan?
Absolutely. I’m just trying to make it through the end of [Season] 7! [Five-0] is really, really wonderful, but it is an action show, I’m the main guy, and I defy anybody to do what I’ve done for as long I’ve done it and hold out the way I have. Dude, I was a fit, strong, healthy guy when I started the show, and I still am, but you sustain what you sustain. It’s part of the gig.

If Alex leaves after season 8 if we get one I will NOT be watching anymore as Alex is the only reason I watch now. So all the Alex fans I know will not watch as he is the main man and main story is all about his life. The fans that like Steve and Danny will stop watching as well so that would be like 3/4 of fans stop watching the show. I can not see Scott staying if Alex leaves either.

Reasonably good start to the new series. Though, I did find it a bit bizarre at the beginning when Steve was in this church ( I recorded it, but it missed the very start) and he came across this Jack Lord lookalike. I'm sure most viewers know that Jack played the original Steve McGarrett.
I don't know why they bothered with that - the CGI just looked creepy rather than realistic and people who didn't know who Jack Lord was would just have been wondering why Steve was talking to someone who looked like they were from a Grand Theft Auto advert.

I thought it must have been CGI.

As I said, I missed the very start of the episode-do you know the significance of that meeting?

I googled to see what it was all about and it looks like it was just something they had been wanting to get in for a while, rather than being significant to the story.

Good episode from Hawaii Five 0 to start season 7

Loved seeing all the team back together
We have a serial killer who loves chess and leaves pieces in their mouths and who is still alive and not dead.
We have a new governor as well Keiko Mahoe played by Rosalind Chao hope we get to see more of her.
Chin and Sara cut story line.
Jack Lord tie in was interesting and the talk with Steve who is still in love with Catherine and I really hope we see cath again and Steve and cath back together.
Hope Danny does not keep on to Steve about the liver for the whole season 7 because I am bored with it all ready
Loved the foot chase with all the stunts and action with the whole team involved.
Abby is not with Five 0 now but with the police.
It was funny when they got Chin to drive the car with Steve and Danny
Little Jerry which is a good thing

I thought that was who it was supposed to be. And it was, of course, CG; and most odd it looked too.

I do love this show but they need to cut down on the bickering between Steve and Danny. It's no longer funny Listening to them for the whole ep.

Lovely to have the team back! The chase scene over the roof tops was bloody fantastic!

I agree. It annoys me no end.

I also didn't think it made any sense on this occasion. The reason Danny started arguing with Steve about him never following his post op regime was because he took his medication? That makes no sense at all!

I'd also point out, as a transplantee myself, that it's not just post-op medication. Unless there's something about liver transplants I'm unaware of (I've got a kidney myself) you have to keep taking immuno-suppressants for the rest of your life. If you want to actually keep the organ you do not, under any circumstances get casual about taking them!

It was pretty exciting although it rather stretched credulity that any of them could have kept up with the guy considering the stuff he was pulling!

Although it was slightly let down by the CGI, I really liked the scene and I’m glad they attempted it. It’s never been done before, so I’m glad they pioneered it (even if it was a little rough around the edges). It’s interesting that it was originally going to be saved for the final scene of the final season.

I also enjoyed the chase scene, very ‘Jason Bourne’ in style in terms of how it was shot I thought.
