To be fair, they didn't actually show that much of it

The banter about Steve's father issues, Danny's disgust at the severed head, Kono's driving and the priceless debate about CHIPS made this episode really enjoyable

I paraphrase

"What's this, he's hot ..."

"What the dark haired one?"

"No, the blonde"

"That's me" "That's me"

Fantastic programme one of the best things on TV at the moment, I do remember the original as it was one of the first programmes i ever saw in colour and this knocks the spots off it,

The banter between Steve and Danny is priceless!!

Never really got into this, i struggled through the first couple of episodes, but i have deleted all the others out of my planner. I thought it was something i would have liked but it just seemed a bit to clumsy and i know not every programme has to be ground breaking but the plots left me with a real feeling of deja vu.

Did the series pick up? is it worth trying to catch it when its repeated?

Maybe it's not for you. It's not ground breaking tv in any sense of the word, but it's my fave tv prog of the moment. I love the humour and banter.

The series was big in the US I believe and has been renewed. I'm also sure that Sky will repeat it from the beginning if their other series are anything to go by.

It hasn't been renewed -- yet. It is also true that the show wasn't really BIG in the US, but the ratings were good enough that it is expected CBS will announce the renewal of the show in a couple of weeks when they present their fall schedule.

the thing is at the same time as this, i was watching Boardwalk Empire / Sopranos and re watching the Wire so i didn't really have time to watch it, and now i have started Game of Thrones i thought i got to delete them for the space.

Ooops. Sorry! I thought I read something about it being the surprise lead show on a Friday night, I was obviously wrong.

....was the original 5-0 ever this good ? Or are we looking back with the rose tinted spec's - looking at Kono

Got to be 30+ years since I have seen any of it.

Presuming somone has bagged the re-re-re-re-run rights, in light of this.
Seeing some clips on YT.....it doesn't age well.

Big fan of the Old series too...

And trying to think when it use to be on......Fridays was it, 9pm.

It airs on Thursdays on CBS. But i also thought it was doing very well in the ratings rather than the impression MoreTears gives above... maybe im worng.

The Sky1 ratings are very good though, no disputing that.

Don't get me wrong: it is doing well enough in the US, ratings-wise. It is sure to be renewed for a second season. It just hasn't done well enough to be called "big." CBS probably had higher hopes for the numbers they would get.

It got 890,000 viewers in the latest figures available. Not bad for multi channel.
Pretty good ratings. After the first two episodes, which were very good, there were several sub-par episodes. But the last few weeks it has improved much.

This series just gets better & better! The frenetic pace of the episode added to the panic of the oncoming tsunami and, again, the hour went by much too fast!

Little Grace cleaning out Kamekona & his friends at poker was inspired

Danny's less than scientific mind had me laughing and, once again, Scott Caan and Alex O'Loughlin play off each other so well.

So, who put the $10m back in the locker? That was an intriguing development and one that I didn't see coming.

The team rallying around Chin and then supporting Steve when he met with the Govenor was heartwarming and this team is definitely o'hana.I love this show!

Oh, and any scene with Scott Caan in just board shorts is fine by me

Don't worry, its all but re-newed, expect an announcement this month during the CBS up-fronts.

Are the ratings on Sky One still good? Last i heard it was sometimes the most watched programme on the channel some weeks.

I like Steve's relationship with the girl on the aircraft carrier, they haven't explained anything about why, where, how or anything, it just is! The relationships between all the main characters all the way through make this such a good watch. the Obvious Bromance, Chin and Kono, Steve and Chin, even the big guy (can't remember his name) and all the team, you finding yourself really giving a toss!

Knew it was going to be a Great episode when Kono's first scene...is with her Bikini on.....My Dream Surfing Instructor.
Nice to see Catherine again....and boy, did Steve need her help again.

Fine episode last night....but ya just knew the Tsunami was a cover, but for what.
Danno; 'How we learn about Tsunami's'.....

Grace; Card-Sharpe....

And how come the Money is Back.....this is a good continuing story.

'You couldn't walk him down the steps?'

I see two options for the money.
1. The Govenor put the money in as a thank you to 5 0.
2. Someone else put in a fake $28m and took the real money. They're probably a bit upset after counting it and finding $10m missing but not too upset I guess as they do have $18m.

I think option 2 has more legs story wise.
