Orange 3g problem

I called Orange cs today to report a 3g problem in the town center of Bolton ,i got an offshore person, I explained this to him and he said its my phone, I said no its not as its fine 2 miles up the road, he said it must be the weather.

I pointed out my mates phone is the same, he would not have it, i just gave up in the end .

So ill ask some one on here, its fine on 2g but no 3g , i put it on to 3g only and it said no coverage at all so I know there is a fault , but my Orange dongle this finds 3g reception before disconnecting after 10 mins and just shows searching.

When I try it at home its fine on my phone and dongle, so why does my dongle find 3g reception but not my phone while in Bolton yet 2 miles up the road they are both fine.

Think you will just have to call Orange and handle CS.

But if you dont wanna call them and it doesnt fix itself, If you have twitter, tweet @OrangeHelpers, they are a very helpful customer service team, they do also monitor this forum so you could get an answer from them on here.

I would recommend the twitter route. Orange do have quite a problem with 3g congestion in some areas and also some malfunctioning equipment. (Although that was supposed to have been fixed recently)

Hi mj,

From reading your original post it seems like there may be some 3G congestion affecting your particular postal sector within the Bolton area. This area is covered by a number of different masts and it could be that there is a problem with a certain service node of any one of the masts as a pose to being due to service congestion, however we will need to have details of your location to confirm the route of the problem.

prking suggested 07-02-2011 07:14 that you use Twitter to address these issues. If you have not already done so then you may find that Orange Helpers are able to investigate this when contacted by Direct Message with a full postcode along with your mobile and mobile Broadband numbers. We also have an official Facebook page where we can take this detail by Private Message.
