I believe part of the old R&R set is now Phils house, as its now half the size, and Phil's house is a new set.

They have also by the looks of it taken the set apart and put it back together again, as it has improved.
When it first re-opened in August, it looked awful.

Old R&R (much better/bigger):

New R&R (Tiny/Awful):

Thats how big the whole set is now.

Downsizing because of costs in the recession??

Also R&R hasn't been much of a focus recently so I guess it doesn't need to be as big??

Hmmm.
Surely if they can afford explosions and pub fires they can afford a good, realistic nightclub set?
And it is used a fair bit again now.

It was empty for a good 10 years, I doubt that they just left the set there to gather dust.

Yeah, until 2007.
But surely they could have made R&R bigger?
Fargos???
Post office???
These are all vacant sets!
I hope they extend the R&R, but not make a story out of it, and just suddenly start showing it, as its supposed to have another room anyway, but i'd like to actually see it!

i think that's just part of it - there are other places elsewhere - most likely a lot of it is what we don't see.

Well they can easily expand it and actually show the rest, or its a bit unrealistic.
And they used to show all of it, so I don't see why they can't now?

For stunts and explosions, and possibly even staff, yes, but sets, no.

There used to be a snooker hall next to it, which Phil owned. I'm sure after Billy set fire to it years ago when it was Angie's Den it was extended to make a larger club, with a VIP room and unisex toilets when Ronnie and Roxy arrived. After the fire a few years ago, which Billy caused again I think, they maybe sold half of it again. I think they should make it larger, all the scenes inside it look rubbish, totally unrealistic nightclub, it's more like a bar.

The new set of R&R is awful. It is so tiny, it hardly looks like a club. The light is wrong too. It doesn't work imo. You can hardly fit three people on the dance floor. The bar is tiny and it seems like there is only those two chairs you can fit in to have a couple of people sit down. It used to be such a great set when R&R opened it.
Most of the new sets are ghastly. Phil’s house, the front room of the Vic, Glenda’s flat. Something must be wrong with the designers.

Fargos & The old Post Office "sets" are actually built into the outdoor lot & not in the studio....Fargo's is actually inside the R&R building on the outdoor lot - if you walk through the R&R door you end up in Fargo's - the other arch behind the war memorial with the word SIGNS on has the bookies set inside it.

Im more concerned about the photo spoilers for next weeks episodes - Heather's "bedsit" - did she move? I thought she was still at No3 - though that set she's in looks more like Ethel Skinners old flat above Dr Legg's surgery, have a look. Looks like Peggy's old kitchen cupboards too....but that set she's in ain't number 3 & I hope they don't try to make out it is!

It was stated a while back that, at Dot's suggestion, Heather was moving into Ethel's old place as she couldn't afford the rent at No3. This is actually a case of good continuity! This will be the first time that we have seen her living in the flat.

If you mean decoration-wise, I think this is just to reflect the characters' different tastes. It wouldn't be realistic if they were all attractive decors like the Ronnie&Jack's and the Beales's.

Nothing wrong with the R&R set. Agreed it's a bit unrealistic for the characters to always stand around that small bar, but I've alway assumed that it still goes back further than we see. The quiet music levels are unrealistic however - the characters should have to shout a bit more.

Alot of good sets on EE at mo. Really liking the Arjee Bhajee.

Yes I understand that the decoration is to reflect characters, but I meant more the dark wallpaper which make for very dark sets and it kind of distracts from the actual scenes.

Some people keep mentioning R&R goes back further...
If it does, thats great, but I want to see that now for proof.
Its annoying, they have many free sets they could easily use to get R&R back to a decent size like it was before the fire in May.

I hope they have another fire, and then get it back to normal!

Well I noticed in November when Ronnie and roxy were arguing it was MUCH bigger! They actually showed the dance floor and club lights and had loud music playing! But then it vanished off screen!! when will they show the place again, as it's definitely open still!

Phil is the sole owner but I'm guessing there is already a random manager looking after R&R. I don't think we will see the interior set of R&R again because they've just spent a lot of money on "The Albert".

Phil owns the R & R currently, if he actually runs it is debatable as he recently said he misses working behind a bar, he could of got a manager in to run it but it hasn't being mentioned on screen, so who knows?
