Also is the drain of your sink nice and clean? Maybe it whiffs like a cat loo (and thus reassuring for that purpose)?
I've experienced my cat peeing on the carpet, right in front of me. He came tearing up the stairs one day (from outside) and did his business in front of my startled eyes. It turned out he was in a turf war with another cat and was being bullied, i.e. upset.”
We've just moved into a new house & she's not too keen on facing upto the local cats at the moment. What she usually does is wait for the dog to go in the garden then follow him out, do her business then run back in again. We do keep her in some nights so she must be bursting in the morning, i was just so shocked when she did it.
It was a bit weird but i suppose it was good she didn't go on the carpet. A litter tray would be a good idea for the nights she stays in, unless we can teach her to flush.
