Hi, can anyone tell me what the benefit is of using the Facebook app on my HTC as opposed to me just saving a shortcut to FB as I so with other websites I visit?

it is integrated into the system, updates are instant and you can post pics directly from your gallery///

Plus it has Facebook Chat now which I don't believe the mobile site has.

the notifications don't always work

It has a better interface.

thats more of a generic facebook problem though - I get that on the desktop, and have had it invariably fail and not notify on any of the mobile clients (iOS, Android, Nokia).

Facebook is a nice idea, but I just wish they'd get some of the backend stuff working a little better.

Can you see and reply to 'pokes' on the application? They don't even show up via the shortcut.
