You have 2 choices, try and cut your current SIM to the right size or ask your network to swap it for a micro SIM.

Not unless you cut them down to micro sim size. This is risky though. O2 and 3 will send micro sims out if requested or you can pop in one of their stores. Not sure about the others

All networks that offer the iPhone 4 will send a microsim out if you request it, not sure if all will keep them in stock in high street stores.

Micro sim means they have more space for extra parts in the phone, it might not seem like it's making a lot of extra room, but I'm sure they're using it well. Extra chip space for better processor for example.

And as it has been said, cutting it down yourself is risky, too much and it won't work. If you aren't desperate, best to get your network to swap over your sim. Same number and plan, just a new bit of plastic.

The official explanation is due to everything that was packed into the iPhone 4, there wasn't room for a regular sim slot

@kester, yeah I wasn't sure about the others. I'm sure I'd heard about orange and tesco being funny if you hadn't bought the phone from them though and some people having to cut

Don't let them charge you! They should do it for free.

If vodafone (Ireland) sell the iPhone 4 normally you shouldn't have a problem getting a micro sim. If they don't you may have to risk a cutter. Google micro sim cutter and you should find some that do it automatically for you

and sim cutters are avalable from ebay from as little as £3.99 dont know how many times you would use it but could be a handy tool for future use.
