It was one of the Julies - the taller one I think. Wasn't he killed with an ice pick?

Shirley Carter scraped her way out, stabbed him, moved to a pub in the countryside and now lives in Walford.

CBS Drama must be close to this episode as they are now on Series 7. Had given up on BG after Yvonne's horrific end when it was on ITV and gave up at a similar point on CBS Drama. However in the last week started watching it again on CBS drama and we have just had Di set up Ben for the hit and run in order for Jim to get out of jail and as of Friday he was G-Wing Governor. Can't be for long though?

Who can forget Yvonne Atkins tragic but gruesome death. Still haunts me tbh, and ofcourse the whole reason for Fenner's death was because of that act.

I thought it was awfully sad when Yvonne's final breaths were ''help me''. Then of course the harrowing discovery of her body 6 weeks later!

I personally think BG5/BG6 were brilliant...even BG7...everyone always says how they wern't as good but I personally have them down as favourites.

Coming up soon on CBS Drama is this. I've loved watching the full re-run, haven't seen these episodes since they originally aired!

People overstate how 'bad' the show got. Watching the show again, series 1 to 7 were brilliant. All that changed really was the cast. I'd say it was only after Jim was killed off that the show fell below par.

Series 4 is underrated I think, it was really enjoyable. I liked Cassie and Roisin far more than I did the first time round, similarly I always remember hating Kris and Selena, but my opinion has completely changed on Selena - whereas I found Shaz Wylie really annoying this time. My favourite storyline remains the same, the great escape of Shell and Denny in series 3, what they did to Bodybag was nothing short of evil. There were too many escape attempts after that, but then, their escape was successful so in reality it probably would trigger more to have a go.

I've been wondering whether we're getting unedited episodes this time, they've split a few extended episodes obviously, but there's been a few things I don't remember happening originally - like an explanation to what happened to Buki and Babs, which we got. True test will be if we see what happens to Colin and Di.

I've recently started rewatching all the DVD's and, having got to series 4, I'm quite the opposite. I'm not enjoying it at all. I can't believe how much I (strangely) miss Shell & Denny. Even when they were in the background of episodes, you knew they were there, so episodes that they're not even in the background of are so weird.

I did love the Shell/Denny torturing Bodybag and Bobby. The scenes were quite epic and superbly acted.

COMPLETELY agree about Shaz. I recall really loving her back when it aired originally. This time, I don't like her at all. The Denny/Shaz friendship/relationship is/was odd , and I didn't like how much they shafted Shell & Denny's relationship for it. I know Shell was never a superb friend to Denny, but I liked their dynamics so much more than Shaz & Denny's.

I agree with all of the above - particularly the brilliant Shell/Denny/Bodybag episode in Series 3.

I have been watching the old Bad Girls episodes on CBS Drama, the only time I've seen them since they were first aired, and Series 6 and 7 were far better than I remembered. All the 'I'm Top Dog' stuff was really naff, though, and I still maintain that Natalie Buxton was the worst character in the history of the show.

I think it helps that five episodes are shown a week, instead of one. For instance, the Kris/Selena/Millie storyline seemed to drag on forever the first time round, but because I've watched their story unfold over two weeks this time instead of three months it hasn't seemed as dull.

I never really liked Natalie Buxton either, I never believed how everyone was so scared of her, and how she could get such an intimidating figure as Darlene Cake to run around for her. How Pat Kerrigan managed to succeed where everyone else had failed also stretched it a bit for me.

When Yvonne was top dog, it was an unspoken title, in fact her position of power only really became known in series three when Maxi Purvis tried to take over. But the issue of someone wanting to become 'top dog' felt a little immature for these intelligent criminals, I cringed when Natalie would say 'I'm top dog around here'.

Exactly. As if they would put up with a 'nonce' running things.

I gave up with Yvonne's death. It was very haunting. encaged in a cellar and basically starved to death. I think that was the final straw for me. Too many good characters had met grisly ends.

However I must say I am enjoying Series 7 on CBS Drama which I stumbled on by accident last week. Not seen tonight's yet but Friday's episode was very good with Laura Canning. Not knowing whether she really had stabbed her mother to death, and then realising that her sister was still alive. Right up to the final moments you didn't know how it was going to play out. The interesting thing was that the story was introduced in one episode and concluded in one episode.

Julie J with and ice dagger in the hanging cell.

The show went downhill after Yvonne died, she was the best character by a long shot, I gave up on it a bit after she died.

It became a parody from series 6 onwards, imo.

All the good characters left in S5. Denny, Shell, Betts, Yvonne, Babs...

Yep!

Yvonne was the undisputed top dog of G-Wing but like you say, it was an unspoken title. She commanded a lot of respect from the other inmates and had that presence/clout. She was firm but fair whereas I never really warmed to Buxton or Kerrigan as 'top dog'. What also made me cringe was when Phyl tried to be 'top dog' and started announcing herself as that! Awful.
