Did anyone go last night? Personally, I was disappointed. After the opening 3 songs, there seemed to be about 45 minutes of self-indulgent dirge-like songs that involved Bryan Ferry sitting halfway back on the stage at a small keyboard and barely seen amongst the other backing musicians. That coupled with nothing said to the audience other than the odd 'Thankyou' and introducing the band members. It did warm up later on when they started playing tracks such as Avalon and Jealous Guy etc. and it was a novel way to end the show. Other than that, a bit of a disappointment although musically, extremely impressive.

A word of appreciation for one of the support acts - Hot Club of Cowtown - brilliant!

I saw the in Newcastle a couple of weeks ago & couldn't disagree with you more. It was a ROXY MUSIC gig, not Bryan Ferry & his backing band. The set they played was for the long time fans, not the casuals who might have liked a few of their hits from the early 80s. People like me, in other words. They played a few hits but also plenty of their classic early album tracks. Those early album tracks are the reason Roxy Music is regarded as one of the most influential & innovative bands of all time. Whilst you may be disappointed at Roxy not being human iPods last night, I would have been gutted had they dropped the album tracks in favour of stuff like Angel Eyes or Over You. As it was, I knew every song & sang every word along with Bryan.

Couldn't agree more. I took my Mum (a die-hard fan) and she loved every second! I thought it was a brilliant gig. It helped that we had amazing seats

Thank you Here's the set list from last night http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/roxy-m...-33d23805.html I'm so jealous. They didn't play Dream Home in Newcastle As an overview of Roxy's career I think that's a pretty good set, although personally I'd have taken out To Turn You On & Like a Hurricane & replaced them with Remake/Remodel & Ladytron or maybe Song For Europe. Dunno why some people are whinging on Twitter about not recognising much. They chucked in Street Life & Pyjamarama early on.

I sat there thinking how much of their music I'd forgotten. Bashing out the hits as if it were another "Best Of.." Christmas compilation wouldn't have done them justice. Some of the guitar and sax interplay was amazing to listen to. It was good to hear some of the hits of course, and there were two in particular I noticed missing that I would have liked included (Dance Away and Let's Stick Together), but the general vibe of the concert was very good. We all enjoyed it anyway

I remember when Bowie announced he would not longer do his "greatest hits" when touring casual fans were up in arms

Let's Stick Together was Bryan Ferry solo, not Roxy Music. I agree with the bit in bold though. Spot on

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. So many albums it's difficult to keep track
