Which Brand Food Do You Feed Your...

...dog, cat, or other pets?

Just wondered due to something in another thread.

My dog has Wainwright's Senior, sometimes with Butcher's Senior mixed in - and table scraps. She's not a big eater and is bang on the right weight for her breed.

My cat has the cheapest supermarket generic cat food (usually pouches, sometimes tins). And eats whatever she finds in the dog bowl too.

Fish has dried bloodworms and that Japanese Hikari oranda food, plus the odd shelled pea.

Bunnies have Burgess Excel plus unlimited hay - bits of greens, bits of apple tree, rose or hawthorn branches.

So what's your pets eat and/or what have you tried in the past?

My cat eats whatever we buy her. Which tends to be what is on offer. She can't eat dried food so it's always pouches she isn't a fan of supermeat or Tesco's own brand though we tried her on it and she would just leave it. She does however love Whiskers oh so fishy and the felix as good as it looks they tend to be gone in seconds.

Our puppy gets fed Husse dry food. It's good stuff. Might have to change to Arden Grange, though, as our supplier might be discontinuing the Husse.

Go Cat biscuits and it has to be the purple ones (think there are duck or something) - he wont eat any tinned food (just licks the gravy/jelly, doesnt eat the meat) and when we've got him different flavours of the Go Cat he doesnt eat it!

Whiskas & Felix pouches - standard fish & meat recipes, has to be in jelly (they won't eat the gravy recipes). Felix Good As It Looks, both fish & meat recipes.

Sheba as a treat for the little boy (he loves them) and Gourmet tuna flakes in jelly with shrimp as a treat for the little girl, plus fresh coley and a few prawns every couple of weeks for both of them.

Iams dried food - chicken flavour mostly, but they like salmon too.

I feed a natural diet so no commercial food. Very rarely I have to leave OH to do the feeding, in which case I leave a carton of Naturediet or LIly's kitchen as it's easier for him to get his head around.

Our doggies both have Wainwrights.

Holly (lab, 1 year) has adult large breed, turkey and rice flavour. We moved her onto adult food at 11 months on the vets advice **

Tilly (Jack Russell, 8 months) has puppy, salmon and potato flavour.

Holly started on Iams but the price kept rising and rising, and she never seemed full.

Every Saturday we add a Wainwrights wet food pouch to Holly's food, and every couple of days they get natural yoghurt stirred into their food...They love it!

Alongside this they get the usual doggy treats and rawhide "bones", but they both especially love apple (as long as it's peeled), carrot, cocktail sausages, and cheese.

**the vet told us Holly was getting too much Protein, so we had to switch her to an adult food to lower the amount of protein she was getting. They are now both certified healthy, including their weight

My jack russell Scruffy will only eat Cesar. Lamb seems to be his ultimate fave.

our old pooch is on any human food she decides to eat at the minute, poor girl.
really not well.

she has a few bits of bakers senior too.

in a stroke of genius (!) mum decided to buy a massive bag of bakers senior and that's what the younger dog is eating at the moment too, along with a couple of small bits of chicken or whatever missey is having.
these are stopping though as he's been going around after her, eating what she hasn't.

guinea pigs are on wagg guinea crunch plus hay and vegetables

rabbits are on wagg bunny brunch, plus hay etc.
the rabbits are getting cut down a heck of a lot with the amount of that i feed them though, as they're beggars for eating it lately.

mice and hamster are on Countrywide Hamster/Gerbil Mix
(as it's the cheapest in bulk!)

the budgie has wilkos own seed
the quail are on a mix of wilkos budgie seed and finch seed
with some harkers chick crumb mixed in

fish are on king british tropical flakes

and the snake is on 100% home brand mice

The cats like pretty much anything, but their preferred dry food is Sainsbury's dry cat food, and they like anything pouched in the way of meat.

They much prefer people food though - chicken, fish, Fox's Crunch Creams (don't ask, and no, I don't feed them to them - they ganged up and stole a packet!!)

The ratties have rat nuggets as their basic diet, supplemented with a wide variety of fruit, veggies and the odd little bit of chicken, which they adore. They also love fat free yoghurt - mango flavour is always popular. Bramble adores banana, and beau is mad on plums! To be honest, I've never tried them with anything they refused to eat!
