Re: Fincham on 5 Live. No straight answer on which ITV1 programmes will be introducing product placement either.

Basically wouldn't give a straight answer on anything. Very poor interview with ITV1's top man. Bacon tried his best.

And three multichannel figures from yesterday:

BBC Three
21:00 - Being Human: 906,000 (3.4%)

Sky Sports 1
13:00 - Live Ford Super Sunday: 2.28m (20.2%)
16:30 - Live Ford Super Sunday: 1.69m (10.8%)

I don't understand Dancing on Ice, the one week it starts later (last week), it goes below 8m, yet this week it started earlier yet was back above 8m. How bizarre.

Fincham on R5L was disappointingly slippery and evasive.

As mentioned above Fincham was very vague in his answers on R5L, I thought Richard Bacon's question could have been a bit better aswell but nonetheless it was interesting to hear from Fincham and it wasn't too bad an interview.

On another note that is a fantastic share for the early Super Sunday match, although it was to be expected considering the teams involved.

A good day for Sky subscribers yesterday. A stunning cricket match, two surprise football results and the only channel in the world (they believe) to show the last day of the US PGA tour live.

A better example of one channel handing a rival a high rating on a plate, gift-wrapped and sealed with a loving kiss, you could not hope to find!

Well done, Danny Cohen. Well done, BSI.

It would not have got that rating, and featured (for now) in the Top 10 of 2011, without your kind efforts.

Or perhaps people want to watch the show? Ever though that? I'd bet you'd being saying that if it was on BBC1!

One of the Sunday papers I saw yesterday said Lily Allen will be confirmed as Cowell's replacement for the UK show, which has upset Cheryl because they don't get on and can't work together. So she's off too.

The annual behind the scenes TXF soap opera is riveting stuff each year. They could make a series out of that alone...

(Perhaps they will? )

I wonder if BBC One will consider commissioning a series with Brian Cox or is he BBC Two only?

Its amazing , a whole industry on its own. Why does it matter so much?
So many outlets/forums/papers talk about Cowell in the past tense with regard to UK XF, I think I have been brainwashed into believing it. Apparently Cheryl Cole is sad about all the pressure involved in whether she will be on US XF or not. I wonder just how much pressure is involved when you are a multi-millionairess!

Cheers fo this Dancc.

I really hope that the 3rd special this Easter does better in the ratings than the recent Christmas Special!.

So do I, but it needs to be a mile better than the Christmas episode to stand a chance.

I agree. But losing the Christmas Special amongst some rather odd scheduling last Christmas was possibly the reason behind the poor ratings. I only hope the Easter Special will be on at Easter and not in some obscure Wednesday night slot in the middle of July!

That as well! The Christmas episode was a bit dull in honesty!

Hardly, there have been many examples of both channels offering poor filler or factual efforts opposite each other and both channels getting 3-4m in the same slot.

So in the 5pm hour BBC One, ITV1 and now Channel 4 are all airing repeats (exc. Newsround and Coach Trip). An opportunity then for BBC Two and Channel 5 to increase viewership in this competitive hour. Will be interesting to see any 5pm figures for this week to see how the balance shifts.

Just seen an advert for The Hotel Inspector (Series 7) coming soon to Channel 5.

Based on the press packs I have at the moment they are starting promo for this very early. The soonest it can be launching is week commencing 28th March.

I guess Mondays at 9pm from that date is looking likely, as this has proven to be a good place to schedule factual programmes following hot on the heels of the highly successful Royal Navy: Caribbean Patrol. Thursdays are out of the question this time due to the Europa League.

I'm sure many of the Chase viewers (especially those without HD) will be newly converted to the programme and not realise it's a re-run.
