Ah damn, I forgot about Doctor Who. Very good point. I still don't think the pre-XFactor slot will work after Doctor Who is out of the way though, as Strictly will be starting and willhurt the show even more IMO.

Please, enlighten me, what is downmarket about these programmes that have been commissioned since Desmond took charge:
And announced today: Only downmarket commissions I have seen have been OK! TV, Candy Bar and possibly The Beat Goes On. But, as ever on Digital Spy, don't let the facts get in the way of a good bash! Quote:
Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents overnight ratings:
Ep1: 870k Ep2: 748k Ep3: 576k Ep4: 496k Ep5: 705k Ep6: 770k Ep7: 571k (highlights show) Good ratings for it on the whole, especially as the last few episodes were up against Big Fat Gypsy Weddings. Ratings-wise it should be given another series but I dunno if it'd work as surely people taking part in another series would be a bit suspicious having been aware or seen the show on TV already? Back to ratings and two questions. Any figures for the Thursday night repeat of Big Fat Gypsy Wedding please, and also any data at all for Malcolm in the Middle on Fiver in the last month? |

Ahead of its UK premiere on BBC1 tomorrow night, the US rights to Secret Fortune have been bought by Big Red 2 - the joint venture production company headed up by Nigel Lythgoe and partly owned by Simon Fuller.
It's the second project Lythgoe has been attached to in the past 48 hours. He'll Executive Produce CMT's Next Star - a country music talent search (CMT stands for Country Music Television). The show was created by his son, Simon Lythgoe and will be produced by his company, Legacy Productions and his fathers firm, Big Red 2. It airs in April and the younger Lythgoe will serve as showrunner while his father stays in LA working on Idol. |

Into week 4 and it seems that Piers Morgan Tonight has stabilised after a hectic 3 weeks which went from a 2m high for Oprah to a 400k low for The Kardashians then over a million a few times for the Egypt crisis. For Mon-Thur, he placed 3rd in the 9pm slot but was competitive. The Rachel Maddow Show had a 13% lead in total viewers and a 9% lead among adults 25-54. When the midnight repeats were factored in, Maddow's lead in viewers was down to 7% while Piers held a 5% lead among adults 25-54. Hopes of coming first seem a bit more far fetched - at 9pm Hannity held a 146% lead in viewers. Interestingly, the return of coverage of the Egypt crisis last night sent ratings down a bit from Wednesday night when Piers' passed 1m viewers for his interview with Donald Trump in front of a live studio audience. Notably, while Hannity and Maddow both dipped from their lead-ins on Wednesday, Piers built by 141% in adults 25-54 and 166% in total viewers from Parker Spitzer's alarmingly low number at 8pm (408,000 with 102,000 in the demo, thumped by Nancy Grace on HLN with 583,000 and 179,000). Jedward are representing Ireland this year at Eurovision. With Blue taking part and now Jedward, could we see a rise in ratings for Eurovision after last years slump?

Thanks rzt for the early overnights.
![]() That looks low for EastEnders, over a million behind Coronation Street tape-checked. Probably just a dip, I imagine. 33.7% share in its usual slot I think is its worst in a while, isn't it without a clash? Hustle did well, thankfully losing nothing from its week off last week. As expected for ITV, pretty evident now Comedy Rocks is going to be axed. A slight dip for the Channel 4 shows, but still very respectable ratings, and they'll be pleased with over 13% share from 9pm to 11:15pm. |

What are the demos for Comedy Rocks vs Paul o'grady's friday night show. I'd guess that POG gets the extra 1m in the 55+ age bracket. If thats true then I'm not so sure POG is doing much of a better job than Comedy Rocks.

Just wondering if it's possible that OK! TV could actually do worse than it. Hope The Chase continues winning the 5pm slot, although it doesn't appear to be gaining viewers at the moment. |

Yes, PoG skews older, but it also beats Comedy Rocks in every single demographic including the younger ones (16-34). |

A few big timeshifts for some dramas last week. Official ratings (bracketed includes ITV1+1):
Silent Witness (Mon): 8.40m Silent Witness (Tue): 7.69m Midsomer Murders: 8.10m (8.36m) Marchlands: 7.36m (7.80m) Silent Witness 2011 had an official series average of: 7.97m. This was a rise of 4% vs. last year's series and its best rated series since 2000-2001. Also that was Midsomer Murders' best-rated episode in almost five years (8.94m, March 2006). Marchlands was ITV's biggest-rated new weeknight drama launch since Collision (8.40m, Nov 2009). |

Incredible figure for silent witness, as is breakfst being nearly a million higher than daybreak!
I have missed marchlands but I'm glad itv have a hit drama, great cast too and has done very well with, as far as I know, little promotion. |
