Only a minor point but for the record the five Sky Living channels should really now move to the same position in the list as the other Sky channels.

They are still in the "L" section.

Is that an all time record for a Super Sunday official?

Ironic if it is - the first one WITHOUT Keys!

Probably one of the highest, not sure if it is the highest.

Of interest to some here:

Important @London2012 news. The schedule for the Games will be released at midnight tonight. See it at bbc.co.uk/olympics & @BBCLondon2012.

First opportunity to see what events will be on in primetime.

Very solid night for both ITV1 and BBC1. Sunday is perfect complementary scheduling on the channels and it pays dividends.

Being Human seems to be dropping slightly and The Promise has a solid if small niche audience. It will be interesting to see whether the last episode dents or is dented by South Riding next week. Personally I'm looking forward to South Riding very much. It has lots of buzz and all of it good.

The DoI figures depress me week by week. Why, just why.

Mike, sorry to raise yet another issue but there doesn't appear to be a top 10 for Sky Atlantic.

The Promise is doing okay considering the subject matter, I do think they need to have more series, Naked Apes sounds promising but they'll have to develop and commision more drama as Shameless isn't going to be around forever.

Wow.

Bit more details emerging about BSkyB's plans to launch a news channel in the middle-east. Nart Bouran from Reuters has been appointed as Director of News of what will be called 'Sky News Arabia'.

Apparently aiming for a Spring 2012 launch with 180 journalists, most based in Abu Dhabi.

I see "The Killing" has been boosted by its BBC promos, up about 10% on its launch and 20% week on week, in the officials. I note that it popped up briefly in the iPlayer popular listings as well.

I wonder if BBC Four will pick up the US version, it's by AMC so it should be good.

Interesting to see the week on week uplifts in weekly reach for the six channels which are now on the front page of the Sky HD EPG.

Sky1 10.985 > 11.552m

Sky Living 5.613m > 6.699m

Sky Atlantic 0 > 4.851m

Comedy Central 3.668m > 4.818m

Universal 2.103m > 2.420m

SyFy 2.522m > 3.244m

All up, some significantly.

For the ones that dropped to page four.

BBC HD 3.398m > 2.758m

ITV1 HD 4.304 > 3.664m

Both down massively. Power of the EPG!!

Indeed - also see my post 474 on previous page.

And it also says a lot about the collosal value of slots 1 to 5 (or 101 to 105) - something to keep in mind during the debate about PSB commitments.

How does Ski Sunday do in the ratings? It's one of my favourite shows on tv!

I know skiing isn't huge here but it must do ok considering how long it's been going for

That episode of Emmerdale had 9.522m (inc. HD).

Not quite - I believe Live Premiership Football: Man Utd v Arsenal still holds the record with 2.86m on 24/10/04.

Ofcom quotas! For that purpose, shows are regarded as being made where the production office is, not where the filming takes place.

I'd love to see them try something new. They haven't really moved on in the last eight or nine years. They're still presenting talent shows where they're almost incidental, albeit having moved on from Pop Idol to Talent, and they're still doing the juvenile SMTV-ish type stuff, albeit under different banners (Takeaway/Button). And they're still doing Celeb after nine years.

The extent of their ambition seems to be getting a big contract out of ITV every few years, and that's fine if they genuinely want to retire at 40, but it's far from ideal if they're hoping to be around on telly for another twenty years.

There comes a time when the viewing public suddenly becomes unforgiving of the stuff they're doing now.

Just ask Noel Edmonds.

Someone I know has subjected me to This Morning a few times in the last two or three months, and the guy who plays Keith Lemon has featured every time. They seem to find the most tenuous of reasons to get him on the show.

Agree. OK they participate in two of the big brand tv shows of the time, but I certainly go along with your point I have highlighted. A succession of game shows that didnt stick, and grinding away with the Takeaway format for too long. Very lucrative and good luck to them, but for me they havent reached the heights I once thought possible.
